November 5th is your chance to make your voice heard! No matter who you support, it’s important to practice your civic duty. Check with your organization about internal policies; many offer special PTO to enable you to vote. Remember, several states have laws requiring voting leave, including Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Be sure to do your own research and make your voice count!
If you’re concerned about misinformation regarding the electoral college, I encourage you to educate yourself further. Most states utilize a “winner-take-all” system, awarding all electors to the Presidential candidate who wins the state’s popular vote, though Maine and Nebraska have variations with “proportional representation.” (See the link in comments for more information.) Let’s get out there and make our voices heard!
