Congratulations to Jack Mansfield-Hung and Spike (Michael) Whittingham who recently passed their final architectural practice exam! Since joining KTA in 2021, Jack has contributed to the development of our computational design and BIM systems; Spike has been a leader in our Reconciliation Working Group, taking on pro-bono work for The Olkola Aboriginal Corporation. We feel very proud to celebrate their achievement.

Disheartened to hear this morning of the lack of communication the ATR have received from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage in relation to the implementation of the Statutory Register for Architectural Technologists. There has been an enormous amount of work done in establishing and maintaining the Shadow register. Architectural Technologists are vital part of the construction industry, and this should be reflected in Government. #ATR #CIAT #ArchitecturalTechnology #ArchitecturalTechnologist #MCIAT

When it comes to mass timber, seeing truly is believing—its impact is best understood when experienced first-hand. To make that experience possible, the SLB is sponsoring “Managing Mass Timber: From Forest to Future,” a traveling exhibit and lecture series that showcases the benefits of mass timber directly to students and faculty at leading engineering, architecture, and construction management schools across the Northeast and Great Lakes regions. The exhibit kicked off at Kent State University and has traveled to Syracuse University, with additional stops at the Associated Schools of Construction Region 3 conference in Chicago, Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh for the AIAS Northeast Quad Conference, and the National Organization for Minority Architects’ (NOMA) Annual Conference in Baltimore. For any of my connections with an interest in Majenta BIM Team's work within the water sector and specifically digital deliverables ahead of AMP8, our most recent case study may be one for you... Great article Sam Lissaman! #AMP8 #Utilities #Water #DigitalConstruction
It's with great excitement that I am able to share Majenta’s latest case study in partnership with Galliford Try & Binnies on Southern Water's Brighton East project. The case study encapsulates the realised benefits of 4D planning throughout the preconstruction stage, and how this directly contributed to an estimated 2-week reduction on programme, and an estimated £20,000-£25,000 cost saving! We would like to take this opportunity to thank Gordon Moffat and Colin Hiscock for their input and we look forward to future collaborations as AMP8 approaches. You can access the full case study here: https://lnkd.in/eTAYHWkP If you would like to know more about 4D or how Majenta are supporting projects across the water sector, please drop me a message or send an email to sam.lissaman@majentasolutions.com. The international conference #FutureBuilders 2024 is behind us! This year was the anniversary, fifth edition of the event, which gathered hundreds of professionals from the construction industry. This year's conference was unique not only due to the theme, but also due to the participation of outstanding architects from around the world. 🧑💻 Participants included Jose Pareja Gomez from Zaha Hadid Architects and Ian Bogle from Bogle Architects, who shared their visions of technological innovation and the revitalization of urban spaces. During three panels, the challenges of contemporary architecture were discussed, such as ecological construction, sustainable development and the role of technology in shaping the future of cities. ✅ During the event, Prof. Ewa Kuryłowicz and numerous experts were also present, who took part in the discussion on the pro-social aspects of architecture and the impact of modern technologies on design processes. I encourage those who were unable to attend to watch the online broadcast – full of inspiration and valuable information that will have a major impact on the development of the construction industry in the coming years! #FutureBuilders #conference #ObiektRoku #Aluprof

a Certain municipality in the Western Cape has in their staff , building plan examiners and building inspectors with SACAP Numbers. These induviduals have been drawing plans for rate payers that want to build in the numerous Westcoast developments like StHelena bay, Paternoster, Jacobsbaai, Langebaan and various others in the Saldanha and BergRivier Municipal areas. Some of said personel have been suspended by the municipalities for various reasons. My Question is, does SACAPSA sit back and do nothing regarding these induviduals' conduct.? Surely there should be some form of investigation as to the Professional Conduct of these induviduals.
Catch SACAP's President, Mr. Charles Nduku, live on SABC (Channel 404) on Saturday, 30 November 2024 at 10:30am, discussing the importance of appointing registered professionals for architectural work.
