Kenya is at a critical juncture. The recent events surrounding the Finance Bill have exposed deep-seated issues that demand our urgent attention. A bill intended to support revenue collection and budget measures has ignited a wave of demonstrations. What began as peaceful protests were marred by violence, looting, and destruction, infiltrated by political crooks intent on causing chaos. This escalation led President Ruto to take drastic measures: he refused to assent to the Finance Bill, dissolved the cabinet, and saw the resignation of the Inspector General of Police. However, despite these significant actions, some beneficiaries of this turmoil persist in urging further demonstrations. Rumors swirl that certain international organizations, retired politicians, and senior legal leaders are funding civil society activists to maintain a state of unrest. The Kenyan media has exacerbated the situation by spreading misinformation, while bloggers are being paid to whip up emotions and drive young Kenyans to the streets. We must call out these sponsors of chaos. Look at the instability plaguing our African neighbors: Sudan, South Sudan, and Somalia. The consequences of such unrest are dire. These countries have seen their economies collapse, their social fabric torn apart, and their future prospects dimmed. Kenya cannot afford to follow this path. It is time for dialogue, not destruction. We need to give President Ruto the time and space to implement the much-needed reforms. Let us not be swayed by those who seek to destabilize our nation for their gain. Kenya is our home, and we must protect it from falling into anarchy. We must stand together and prioritize the future of our nation over the interests of a few. It's time to focus on rebuilding, reconciliation, and reform. #KenyaniYetu
