Today is World Health Day - this year’s theme is 'My health, my right’ 🤝🏼. Humans from all over the world, all want to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination. Denmark has published "Transitioning to a sustainable healthcare sector", a white paper, that explores Denmark's push towards creating a more resilient and resource-efficient healthcare sector 🍀. One of the cases that echos the “quality health services” is “Hospital at Home”. It not only enhances the daily lives of citizens but also prevent hospitalisations and reduces the burden on healthcare systems, and unnecessary ambulance in Poland, Denmark, and the US 🤝🏼. Nordic Health 2030: From "sick-care" to healthcare 👊 Our healthcare systems faces significant challenges. The healthcare systems in the Nordic countries are often noted as being among the best in the world. Indeed, when looking at population health measures and basic indicatorsrelated to health system performance, the Nordic countries rank close to or at the top compared to the rest of the world. However, the state of the Nordic health systems – nor any other country’s – is not as strong as it may appear at first glance. As we look towards the future, several significant challenges face our health systems, presenting a wide range of implications over the short, medium, and long term. If we imagine our health systems as a landscape, these challenges and changes may be represented as three major tectonic shifts. #digitalhealth is changing the way we think about healthcare, and Samuel Knauss will be at the World Health Summit’s side event, 'Digital Health Unbound', on the 16.10. to be part of the conversation, organized by the Global Digital Last Mile Health Lab at the Charité Center for Global Health together with the Geneva Digital Health Hub and the Digital Transformations of Health Lab (DTH-Lab) in Geneva. What’s on the agenda? The big question: How can digital health leap over borders and break down barriers? How can we make sure it’s not just about fancy tech but about real, tangible access to care for everyone? It’s all about collaboration, innovation, and scaling solutions – the kind of work that fuels everything we do. We’ve been doing this since 2022 – building a digitally-enabled ecosystem that connects producers, healthcare providers, and companies. Our platform triangulates and validates data on health and livelihoods (all with a lock-tight grip on privacy), bringing healthcare to thousands of small-scale producers across Ghana, Madagascar, Ecuador, and Venezuela. So, when we say we are excited about what is going down at Digital Health Unbound – it is because this is what we truly believe in real-world impact, powered by digital health.
