Your willingness to guide and mentor young minds is truly commendable. Your story will inspire and empower them to pursue their passions and navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. So many young people want to start something of their own, but sadly, several of them are unaware of how to do so. And for some of us lucky to have businesses that are doing well, we owe them a helping hand. That is why I’m always happy to share my entrepreneurial journey with tertiary students. I know they need to understand more about the ups and downs, the challenges, and the many, many forms that starting your own business takes. They need to know what goes into starting a company, putting together initial resources, running an operation for the first time, the tribulations of being a founder, the challenges of an early-stage company, and much more. This is why, this Friday at 2 pm at the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD UBIDS), I’ll be sharing my entrepreneurial journey, the lessons I learned, and some interesting stories the young adults gathered can carry with them to think deeply about. #McDanYouthConnect

IVG (Identify, Validate, Grow) emerged from a transformative journey in Ghana, Africa, where a spark for social entrepreneurship met the limitless potential of youth. Our program was designed with one powerful goal: to foster a changemaker mindset in students around the world, equipping them to lead, create, and inspire change. Through a series of engaging, virtual workshops, we teach students the LEAN methodology, blending entrepreneurial principles with a mission to address real-world issues. But we’re more than a program; IVG is a movement. By empowering students to identify challenges, validate solutions, and grow their ideas, we inspire a belief in their own capacity to drive positive change. Every year, students bring their ideas to life at our pitch competition held at NYU's Washington Square Park Campus, where they share their visions for a better future. Our mission is to educate and inspire youth through entrepreneurship workshops, empowering them to see themselves as changemakers and leaders. We are committed to shaping a world where every young person has the tools and support they need to start making an impact today.

A key aspect in creating entrepreneurial culture is strengthening entrepreneurship education and creating more platforms for idea exchange and collaboration. Educational institutions can play a significant role by incorporating entrepreneurial studies in their curricula and promoting hands-on learning experiences through business incubators, workshops, and hackathons. This would help cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset among the youth, encouraging them to pursue innovative solutions to local problems. Moreover, fostering collaboration between entrepreneurs, academic researchers, and industry professionals can create a network of support that accelerates business growth. Public and private sector partnerships could also help develop infrastructure, such as co-working spaces and accelerators, where entrepreneurs can access resources, mentorship, and community support. #entrepreneurship #education
