Farming Time! The rains are here; planting time is now - do not delay! In 2022, the Government of Zambia conducted research, which revealed a vast market for white maize in Southern Africa, specifically in Malawi, Zimbabwe, DR Congo, and other countries. The government encouraged farmers to capitalize on this opportunity, but the rains ceased prematurely (drought). This year, the opportunity has returned. To benefit from this huge market, plant early! If you plant in November, apply fertilizer in December (before Christmas and New Year) and your maize will be ready by March. For the past 20 years, the rain season has started in November and ended in March due to climate change. The traditional rain season, which began in October/November and ended in April/May, is no longer applicable. Plant early-maturing varieties, and apply fertilizer in December or early January. Leave late-maturing varieties for those with irrigation systems. By doing so, you will reap the rewards and be smiling! By MuzitexTV.

Saradha, a marginal farmer from Nepal is the latest beneficiary of Pollinate Group’s impact model. She recently installed a solar water pump on her farm, significantly benefiting Saradha's agricultural endeavors. The cost she previously incurred by using a diesel water pump cost her approximately NPR 30,000 rupees over a three-month cultivation period, which she now saves. Moreover, adopting the solar water pump has facilitated the diversification of Saradha's crops, a feat previously hindered by the limitations of traditional diesel pumps. With newfound access to reliable irrigation, Saradha has expanded her cultivation to include crops like paddy and wheat, enhancing her farm's resilience and potential profitability. This diversification mitigates risks associated with monoculture and presents Saradha with additional sources of income, capitalizing on market demands and potentially increasing her revenue beyond the current NPR 1 lakh mark. By embracing solar power, Saradha is securing her financial future and contributing to environmental sustainability, reducing her carbon footprint and fostering a cleaner, greener tomorrow. #customerimpact #solarproducts #solarpump #farmers #crops #irrigation #greenertomorrow #linkedincommunity
