True story - The “Licencing Mills” producing poor entry level Commerical drivers is a national problem. What compounds the problem is SOME trucking companies hire these poorly trained drivers and SOME insurance companies providing insurance to them. This is just one of the reasons that PTTAC Canada was formed in December of 2023. Kudos to Today's Trucking for highlighting the issues. The solution is uniting nationally. Every province’s transportation leader should be involved. Check out what PTTAC Canada is doing and who is getting involved at www.pttac.ca. Join the Movement. #proudindustrystakeholders #trucking
#Truckingindustry stakeholders have raised the alarm about an increasing number of companies, schools and drivers in Ontario who do not rise to the minimum professional requirements, and in many cases disregard complying with laws and standards. A release signed by the Ontario Safety League, Ontario Trucking Association, Truck Training Schools Association of Ontario, Private Motor Truck Council of Canada, Professional Truck Training Alliance of Canada, Teamsters Canada, and Women's Trucking Federation of Canada of Canada says, “It is distressing to admit the standards of safety and #compliance are eroding rapidly in our industry.” #truck #trucking #transportation #roadsafety #drivertraining #truckdriver https://lnkd.in/g9R3-mSW
For sure, the training gap is real in this sector. Collaboration could really elevate standards nationwide. What do you think about PTTAC's approach?

2mothe scary part is The conservative politicians believe in less regulation and less certification. Doesn't matter if it's a truck driver, plumber, electrician etc. The rich want lower costs both payroll and training.
