🌟 What an amazing Week at Max Planck Career Evolution Games Week 2024! 🌟 I’ve just concluded an amazing journey at the Career Evolution Games Week, an event designed for Max Planck researchers interested in transitioning to industry roles. Throughout this engaging series of sessions, I learned to: - Embrace corporate thinking and strategic decision-making. - Communicate with clarity and influence. - Write successful job applications. The highlight of the week was working in teams to create and pitch a new food supplement to potential investors. I'm excited to share that the product pitched by my team was selected as the winner ✌🥇 by a panel of experts! 🎉 Thank you Jan-Hendrik Oelmann, Alexandra Degtyareva, Erica Warth and Nafizul Kazi for the exciting and seamless team-work. It was heartening to discover such amazing group dynamics and to find the perfect blend of skills within our team. Below is a picture of our team and a sneak peek at our innovative product #SupplementiXX. It's amazing to see how ideas, born from common everyday problems, can transform into something with immense potential when approached with the right mindset. This performance-based approach can result in doubters learning to become more open-minded while working toward potential rewards such as more interesting work, promotions, and salary increases. How many of us thought in our twenties that this is how we'd feel about our careers in mid-life? Many of us were high-achievers at school – possibly even the swots. We worked hard and did well, and that moved us on to the next stage. Good results at school, university, getting a good job led to career progression, additional responsibility, promotions and being valued by the organisation; we were continuing up that ladder. We had more priorities to juggle Somewhere along the line many of us ended up feeling stuck doing the same kinds of roles that we’ve done before, facing the same kinds of issues that we’ve seen goodness knows how many times.
