Sharon… I will miss you so! However, I can’t WAIT for the rest of the world to get to know you because Sharon Love knows how to think independently, inspire individually, and love universally. #LoveActII Hugs, Kirya
With pleasure and pride, I share the successful closing of the Omnicom chapter in the book of my career, effective at the end of this year. 1/1/25 will welcome the turn of the page to new opportunities and impact! In July '23, I enjoyed my first foray into the corporate side of Omnicom, after 25 years as a CEO on the agency-side. After we sold the remaining part of TPN, I accepted the role of Executive Chairperson of Omnicom Commerce Group. (Hilariously, my 92 yo. Mom tells friends in her retirement home that I am the Executive Chairperson of Omnicom, despite many attempts to correct her! Sorry Mr. Wren!). It was a time of transition for the group, and it allowed me to see the business through a different aperture, while adding value to agencies, people and clients I care about. I learned a lot from the driven leaders I am working with, who will carry the torch forward and continue to shine! (You know who are and thank you!) I am guided and driven by curiosity, optimism and gratitude. And those feel like the right and necessary qualities as I confront blank pages beckoning me to fill them with new purpose and significance. I am intentionally not using the ‘R-word’ (retirement) -- not because there is anything wrong with it, it just doesn’t describe this moment or me. In my work-life, I’ve always made time for my non-work life: family, friends, travel, personal growth and passions… which is why I have energy and excitement to continue to live both - it is one life. But first, I promised myself (and my husband) I would take a (small) break and just see what it feels like to be untethered and unemployed for the first time since I was 13 years old! As I architect the next chapter, I will continue to serve on several not-for-profit Boards, including accepting the move from Board member to Strategic Advisor at Women's Health Access Matters, whose mission is to increase awareness of/accelerate funding for women’s health research to transform women’s lives and positively impact the economy. I love the work and look forward to giving it more of my time and focus. But outside of a few other interesting irons in a barely tended fire, the rest is unwritten…… I am sanguine and confident about how the story will unfold. None of us does anything winning or worthwhile alone and so I will end with gratitude. To Roger Winter, who opened the door to an industry and an agency I love. Enduring thanks to my business partner, advisor and friend of nearly 30 years, Rich Feitler, and to all my friends and colleagues (past and present) at TPN Tracy-Locke Haygarth Omnicom Commerce Flywheel DAS & Omnicom for your trust, partnership and heart. And to the best clients any agency leader could hope to work with and learn from. Wishing everyone continued success, abundance and joy! What a chapter Sharon Love. New beginnings!
All the best Sharon!
Thinking back to meeting you in 2003 at SMP, life has never been the same, just so much better, for having met you. And over the years it’s been my privilege to be a competitor, colleague and most importantly friend. You have so much to be proud of in this long chapter, and I’m excited to anticipate how you will write your next chapter. Congratulations on all that you accomplished but mostly for all the people that you impacted and made better. Now go find your monger!
