Life Science Sweden Bioscience Conference, the 12th annual edition of this international scientific event, will take place on Thursday 7 November. Professor Johan Rockberg from KTH Royal Institute of Technology will guide participants through the event, which will address major challenges and the latest research findings. 🔬 💊 RISE Research Institutes of Sweden researchers Jenny Blomqvist, Senior Analytical Scientist specialising in biologics development, and Lina Nyström, Formulation Scientist and Project Manager, will present "Pitfalls along the drug development path". The presentation will cover lessons learned during biopharmaceutical drug development, how early planning can prevent costly delays, exploration of formulation strategies, stability testing and analytical method development, supported by real-world examples from both research and commercial projects. "We see a trend where stability and process challenges discovered at later stages of drug development cause longer delays than if the same issue had been addressed earlier in the process," says Jenny Blomqvist. It seems fitting that our 10th joint technical paper between Almac Sciences and University College Dublin is now published in Organic Letters’ special issue “Organic Chemistry Driven by Academic-Industrial Collaborations”. The paper, 'Modular Synthesis of Benzoylpyridines Exploiting a Reductive Arylation Strategy', discloses a telescoped flow strategy to access electronically differentiated bisaryl ketones as potentially new and tunable photosensitisers containing both electron-rich benzene systems and electron-deficient pyridyl moieties.
