🎄🍬 Gingerbread Showdown Champions! 🍬🎄 This year, our Kiwi Productions team stepped out of the AV world and into the sweet world of gingerbread architecture! For the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton's kickoff fundraiser event, we joined 20 other incredible companies to create our sugary "masterpiece": Edmonton City Hall! Going into it, we didn’t expect to win—after all, our expertise is more screens, projectors, cameras and cables than candy canes and frosting. But with teamwork, a sprinkle of creativity, and maybe a little holiday magic, we surprised ourselves and took home first place! From frosting skyscrapers to gumdrop accents, the process was an absolute blast, and seeing all the incredible creations from other teams made the event even sweeter. Best of all, it was for such a meaningful cause, supporting the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton in their efforts to spread joy this holiday season. Here’s to great teamwork, festive fun, and a little gingerbread glory! 🏆✨ #TeamKiwi #GingerbreadShowdown #EdmontonChristmasBureau #HolidayFun #HolidayMagic

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧? It's something we joked about when we first put Liam vs. Noel on a Big Ballot Bin in Manchester, in our #PickYourSide campaign, testing whether our new voting bins could tackle litter and get people talking rubbish. Timely questions like Barbie vs. Oppenheimer, and the never-ending Cats vs. Dogs debate sparked a viral reaction - 15% of people in the UK alone saw the bins! The creative approach cut through the usually mundane topic of litter, and the bins were 2.5x more effective at reducing litter according to independent surveying by Ellipsis Earth. From going viral, to a (possibly, potentially, probably related) reunion, we're pretty proud of #PickYourSide, and yesterday it was voted Behaviour Change Campaign of the Year at the Global Good Awards! A huge thanks to our partners KFC UK & Ireland, Manchester City Council and Southampton City Council for trusting us with trialling our solar-powered, interactive and customisable bin, beautifully brought to life by design partner Instrument Industries. This win has made us all the more excited to continue developing our most advanced voting bin yet. Who'll make the greatest comeback? Oasis or the Big Ballot Bins? #PickYourSide and follow along for their next appearance: https://lnkd.in/g-pD2ZeS

Hi friends and family, strangers and neighbors, lovers and enemies. I have created my first official petition. Please sign below to support me and my small-town endeavors! Who is impacted? People, whether they be Mound Westonka citizens or new neighbors or people from out of town, love a local watering hole. The SkatePark in Mound (Zero Gravity SkatePark) is a local watering hole that has not gotten any tender, love, and care since 2006 when it first opened. It is in dire need of an upgrade, and myself and the local skater population have wonderful ideas. Allowing myself and anyone (who wants to be) involved to take control over the planning and design of the Zero Gravity Skate Park is what this petition is asking for. This involves upgraded graffiti art, "street skate" style implementation (new rails, graffiti, a bigger half-pipe - to name a few), working water fountain and shower, painted gazebo, more picnic tables, and a new bathroom. If none of these are possible to be enacted at Zero Gravity SkatePark, this would be a formal request to build this somewhere on the Mound Westonka High School Grounds. What is at stake? The lives and safety of our youth (and adults that frequent the skatepark), the reputation of our town, the representation of our town, and discouraging gentrification that specifically impacts those lower on the socio-economic ladder. Why is now the time to act? It is going to be a hot summer. People in this town who do not have access to the lake, A/C, or water in general deserve to have a local watering hole where it is not only safe to be, but also fun to be. Click the link below to sign the petition and feel free to share! https://lnkd.in/gmkCPgRk

This article highlights some of the missteps that people encountered when downsizing. 1) Downsizing can be daughting and there are professionals who can assist. Better to sort everything what’s coming with you, donations, sold, trash, gifts to family and friends. 2) Try to avoid long term storage in offsite storage. The self-storage business is a $44 Billion industry with 11% of all households renting at least 1 unit per month. 3) Think about keeping an extra bedroom available for guests and family. 4) Build extra storage on site if necessary. In this article several local professionals were noted for assisting in the process. Merci Magdalena a professional organizer, whose company Great Moves sorts out a home and Lisa Tornello, an interior designer with Millroad Studio in San Anselmo, CA. #Housing #moving #realestate #downsizing #Marin #SanAnselmo #storage #SanFrancisco #WSJ

Change isn't always easy, but it's essential for progress. Excited to share this piece on how Kensal Green Cemetery, and West London Crematorium, embraced change and transformed their operations with PlotBox. 💬 "What PlotBox has enabled us to do, in good time and in a steady way, is look at the way we do things, then look at what PlotBox can do, and think how we can do that better." An example highlighting the pros and cons of building ADUs in LA. However, what are the costs if ADUs proliferate in single family neighborhoods without addressing walkability and providing more transit options? In many parts of LA, neighborhoods are already overparked and passed a tipping point of parking and traffic capacity during most hours of the day. If given the choice, many may forgo owning a vehicle if they have walkable streets with available amenities and destinations nearby. Without more innovative solutions, we need more reliable and efficient transit options in order to attract businesses and transform existing neighborhoods to become more walkable. Perhaps we should explore a more expansive rapid bus transit service with dedicated street right-of-way to complement our expanding urban light rail network. If we continue build more densely, we need better mobility solutions than just adding more cars to our streets.

"The past cannot be changed; the future is still in your power." - #HughWhite Unfortunately, going to work can cause fear and anxiety for many individuals. However, it is a common occurrence, and people should have confidence that they will be protected from bullying or retaliation. Working is a fundamental part of life for most of us, but being able to do so in a safe environment should never be a second thought. As the old saying goes, "safety first," which is often shouted by corporations. However, most reviews based on internal audits, policy, and practice usually rate safety far lower, safety coming in at the 9th objective in strategy and operations.
