JUST TWO MONTHS TO GO! before we start to turn on the heating again. Now is the time to prepare not in two months. We are already talking to devolved government who represent millions of homeowners and others who are in fear of not being able to heat their homes. We would like to talk to more organisations like Age UK and Citizens Advice but even though they are supposed to exist to help people in need they do not want to engage. Charity is supposed to begin at home but not in the case of those two organisations and many more like the British Legion and Charities who purport to help less fortunate people. We have approached Ed Miliband and await his response. He needs to find an answer to going green by 2030. We have the answer at least so far as heating is concerned. We can and will abolish fuel poverty if governments, organisations and people open their ears and eyes and take on board the plain fact that our brilliant infrared heating is the cheapest most effective and efficient form of heating available. https://lnkd.in/eiKfDsGc

The CIMAC working groups, especially WG7 focused on fuels, are a great source of information during this period of rapid change in engine and fuel technology. There is a lot happening and much to learn. Their latest statement addresses the VLSFO fuel issues last year in the US Gulf Coast. https://lnkd.in/gYqpMxSC

End of year guys! If your government isn't doing enough on #climate, don't pay taxes. Donate to our 501(c)3 charity for Indigenous priorities, instead. Our projects this year are two displaced groups, picked by our Indigenous leader panel. Both high-impact climate projects picked for real gains for the communities involved. Don't pay governments money they don't know how to use. 1) Rights of Nature land buyback for the Embera chami. https://lnkd.in/gcbscjZb 2) Batwa ISSB brick machine. https://lnkd.in/entJxpA3 Consider becoming a corporate partner of the charity. Did you know… Carbon monoxide (CO) can pose a serious threat at indoor pools due to fuel-burning equipment, like pool heaters and generators, often used to maintain pool temperature or provide backup power. And since indoor pools are often in enclosed or semi-enclosed spaces with limited ventilation, one small leak can quickly cause carbon monoxide to build up to dangerous levels. To keep your family and friends safe, ensure carbon monoxide alarms are installed in the pool area, ensure proper ventilation, and regularly inspect pool heaters and power equipment. If you are visiting an indoor pool, bring a portable carbon monoxide detector, know the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, and talk to the staff about equipment maintenance. Learn more about carbon monoxide safety from the experts - NCOAA. This is Carbon Monoxide Awareness Month, and this month, donations up to a total of $5,000 will be matched, thanks to DD-Scientific Ltd and IPEX by Aliaxis. 500 Hygrometers are being donated (example below) from our SHDF Project working in partnership with Bromford. A hygrometer is an instrument which measures the humidity of air or some other gas: that is, how much water vapor it contains. Hygrometers can help identify sources of indoor air quality problems, such as leaks or drafts, allowing you to address them and improve the overall air quality in your home. Using a thermo hygrometer can also help you save money on your energy bills by optimizing your energy usage. Top stories today ❌ Charities slam ‘unacceptable’ £74m Warm Home Discount underspend https://buff.ly/3TLPTB9 Fuel poverty charities have slammed a £74 million underspend in the annual Warm Home Discount scheme as "unacceptable" and have called for the money to be paid to those who missed out. Fuel Bank Foundation and National Energy Action (NEA) were responding to the publication of Ofgem's latest report on the scheme, covering obligation year 2022-23. The regulator highlighted how the total budget for the scheme was £523 million and that although suppliers broadly achieved their collective spending obligations, there was a £74 million underspend on rebates. 💷 Ofgem: Sizewell C costs need to be locked down before construction begins https://buff.ly/4ahXyMI Ofgem has raised concerns that consumers will be left on the hook for potential cost overruns and delays to the construction of Sizewell C. The regulator has urged the government to ensure that the underlying project costs and schedule estimates are “robust” prior to the government taking a final investment decision on the nuclear power plant. Ofgem said this is “especially pertinent given the ongoing challenges being experienced by EDF with the construction of Hinkley Point C". ⚠️ Demand flexibility is ‘chronically undervalued’ in ESO plans https://buff.ly/3vcA791 Demand flexibility is “being chronically undervalued”, The Association for Decentralised Energy has claimed. The trade body was commenting in response to plans by National Grid ESO for a £58 billion investment into upgrading the transmission network to accommodate the vast quantity of new generation that will be needed to deliver a net zero power sector by 2035.
