Diwali, the festival of lights, is a time for joy, celebration, and togetherness. Concept Of Diwali. 🪔 Diwali is a festival that has many spiritual and cultural meanings, including: Dispelling darkness: Diwali is traditionally celebrated on a night without a moon, and homes and streets are lit up to prevent darkness from enveloping the heart. Reflection and change: Diwali is a time to reflect on life and make changes for the coming year. Forgiveness: It's common to forgive others for wrongs committed during Diwali. Charity: People are inspired to be generous and charitable. Cleanliness: Homes are cleaned, and people are encouraged to cleanse their inner selves. Introspection: People are encouraged to be introspective and aware. Hope and peace: Diwali inspires hope and peace.

Pehchaan ki Diwali: Illuminating lives Diwali is the festival of lights that brings joy and smiles to everyone by just saying the word. Everyone has one or other reason to feel ecstatic about it, it could be a Diwali bonus, some new gifts, or just going home for those living apart from their families. But do we ever think about the section of society that may not feel this way about Diwali, especially kids? It may sound strange to some people, but it is a harsh truth, almost too harsh to accept. I am talking about the underprivileged sections of society that are deprived of basic needs, even in this day and age. Without basic needs and rights, this section has always been neglected in various employment, education, and health sectors. The underprivileged children are significantly affected by these deprivations which forces them to work at a very young age and these works are not necessarily beneficial or safe for them. These adverse solutions worsen their conditions in society, increasing the social divide between them and the mainstream. Pehchaan The Street School is an initiative that constantly puts in hours and efforts to educate underprivileged children from backward areas. Pehchaan The Street School provides these children with free education, life-skill training, and vocational skills. Currently, 1500+ students learn at Pehchaan The Street School every day at its various centres across Delhi and Delhi NCR. To bring smiles and joy to these underprivileged children, Pehchaan The Street School has brought back the biggest event called “Pehchaan ki Diwali” which is a large-scale donation event that provides the students with a Diwali Kit. This kit includes a new school bag, stationery combo, eatables, and gifts for the children. We encourage everyone to join us to arrange at least 1 kit per person through your donations.
