Impossible is fun! „You are doing what?! That’s impossible. And if you pull if off, people will never pay that money for it!“ With feedback like this on a business idea you either back off or you double down because you know, you're onto something great. When my partner Doc and I floated the idea of cutting iconic albums from master tapes sitting deep inside the labels’ vaults onto lacquer discs and create lavish bespoke packagings for each album, this is what we heard in a dozen different ways.  It wasn’t more persuasive that the manufacturing was supposed to take place in a Venetian Palace style building in the heart of Vienna and employing hours and hours of finest (and expensive) craftsmanship. Cutting music into lacquers is nothing new, it’s actually a vital step in the production process of vinyls in which they sadly get destroyed. But the idea of officially selling lacquer discs to music lovers broke so many rules that you don’t even know where to start. We did it anyway and with the help of some passionate people inside and outside the music biz we created the MASTERCUT. The highest-end audiophile record. Music for better focus? Over the last year, I have noticed that I can focus better and work faster when I listen to electronic music - like the one below. It's the latest gem I have discovered. This is especially true for longer stretches of focused work on texts or building a structure for a website. The music energizes me and carries me through the tasks. “The right choice of music, such as instrumental or ambient music, can help block out distractions, improve concentration, and maintain attention during study sessions.” This quote is from an article on "The Benefits of Listening to Music When Studying" published by the University of Maryland. Before the Mid-Autumn Festival, my partners and I completed this song along with another version of it. https://lnkd.in/gUg4Hy-C Besides the lyrics, we also discussed a story outline to ensure the independent script and visuals align with the lyrics. We used a simple AI tool to first fulfill our requirements, and then made further adjustments to the details. I recall the artists I collaborated with in the past, and there are some differences compared to my current musical style. Fortunately, I can now express the atmosphere I want directly and with a clear level of control. When completing both the visuals and the music, it’s a matter of balancing the resources available—skills, time, and money—and every piece of art is ultimately the best compromise possible in the moment. I’ve made immature investments and unsuitable decisions before, but all of them were necessary steps for growth, laying the foundation for the future. In addition to my recent successful collaboration with the Vtuber ‘DIKA,’ I have other songs that will be released one after another. This industry doesn’t impose age restrictions, and perseverance, focus, and creativity are what allow one to last longer in this field.
