The future of VC is global. And the 2024 Midas list reflects this shift. Nearly 30% of the top VCs on the Midas list this year are based outside the US, highlighting the growing influence of international markets. Earlier this month, Allen Taylor, Managing Partner of Endeavor Catalyst, discussed the "Global State of Venture Capital" with the latest Kauffman Fellows class and shared some compelling insights from Endeavor Catalyst. Of the 1,300+ unicorns in the world today, 25% of them are in the markets where we operate: in Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the rest of Asia beyond China and India. The decentralization of capital is accelerating, and it's exciting to envision a future where the majority of top VCs and groundbreaking deals come from all corners of the globe. Pitchdrive (Antwerp, Belgium) raises third fund of €40M to fuel entrepreneur-driven early-stage investing in Europe #pitchdrive #fund #tech #europe Boris Bogaert (Managing Partner) states: “The €40M investment fund will support 30 European startups over the next two years. Alongside the fund, Pitchdrive has established a new mentor network of 10 successful European entrepreneurs. This powerhouse network will provide personalized guidance and diverse expertise to propel Pitchdrive's growing portfolio”. Of their 50+ investments, about 70% have already raised new rounds within 2 years and first exits are in progress. Their European-first approach has led to an active portfolio in 11 countries, 66% of the startups being located outside of Belgium. The VC with more unicorns than Accel, Insight & Sofbank only invests in developing economies. Impressive!  Endeavor‘s rules based VC, Endeavor Catalyst, is probably the best example of how tech and VC have gone global. Vamos, vamos, vamos Allen Taylor! 

60% of VC is already outside the US. As our ecosystem in #EmergingPakistan grows over the next decade, we will see more global investors partner with local VCs that understand this market. Just as the leading startups in each key vertical will become an acquisition or investment target, every major VC in Pakistan will attract more global LPs and co-investors, leading to the top global funds opening their offices here. It’s a long game over 5-10 years but it is bound to happen.
