Municipal Development Forums: model for the improvement of local productive systems This article attempts to open the debate on a territorial development perspective that fixes the interest in organized territories that are characterized by the existence of a community with a local identity, politically and administratively regulated. We conceive these territories as subjects of development promotion interventions. For this we propose a model for the creation of Municipal Development Forums, which with the participation of local actors, can generate a tailor-made Local Development Program.

Network, perhaps guide to a maze of reports on the Yarra, driving improvements on the Yarra The backdrop to all of the work on the Yarra (and Waterways of the West and the Barwon and the 14 waterways promised protection at the last election) is the Yarra River Action Plan https://lnkd.in/gfwzAg3x, which seems to have been shelved as a reference document. The wing curtain of this theatre of plans and strategies, ever present, is the 50 year Community Vision https://lnkd.in/gfpjXjpJ. It is pleasing to see that it is cited so often in all the other documents. For me, frustratingly vague but with some powerful phrases. Its publication also seemed to mark the end of community involvement in the work of the Act. And the lead agency disbanded the community assembly. A mistake in my view as community improves and evolves when there is long term engagement by government. Then there is the Wurundjeri/worwurrung report, which should never be forgotten, though not directly addressing the Birrarung. The Act requires five-yearly State of the Birrarung (Yarra) and its Parklands reporthttps://lnkd.in/g2tCU2Fw, released recently, and a little late if I have my dates right. Here is a link to the 2018 report as the essence of these reports is to answer the question: Is the Yarra (Birrarung) River improving and if not, why not? https://lnkd.in/gu-uZk3b A handy reference is Melbourne Water’s Burndap Birrarung Burndap Umako (Yarra Strategic Plan) page: https://lnkd.in/gYVvCa87 Harriet Shing
