Organic growth, Seed funding, Blue sky thinking, Ecosystem, Green initiatives. Cool corporate terms we throw around, but there is so much inspiration and consideration to glean from nature and incorporate into product design and business. This past week I was inspired when walking the Oslo Opera House. It was designed to resemble an iceberg floating on the water, crafted and built with nature in mind. It provides visitors panoramic views of the City, the Oslo Fjord while walking it's marble and granite exterior. I love the fact that nature inspired this creative design and was integral in its development and construction. 1. How does nature inspire you? 2. How does it influence your product design and deployment? 3. How do you consider the impact your product has on the natural environment that was there long before you came along? #inspired by nature #the Oslo Opera House #sustainability

📣 Liceu Mar: a new cultural space at the Port Vell in Barcelona The Port of Barcelona and the Consorci del Gran Teatre del Liceu have taken a key step by approving the signing of the agreement for the #LiceuMar project, a new Liceu venue at the Moll d'Espanya. This space will not only enrich the cultural life of the Port Vell, but will also include a continuous dance programme and an innovative New Creation Opera Centre. 🔹 Ideas competition: A public architectural competition will be launched to select the design that best integrates the new building and outdoor spaces. 🔹 Initial budget: 1.2 million euros, financed by both entities. 🔹 Objective: To consolidate a cultural space open to all citizens and operational in early 2026. With this project, Barcelona reaffirms its commitment to culture and accessibility to art, a great boost for cultural life in the Port Vell!

"Art is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your brush. They teach you there's a boundary line to music and art. San Juan, a vibrant hub for music, contemporary art, and now culinary delights, is poised for a resurgence. The upcoming establishments of Aman and Four Seasons, coupled with an influx of stylish New Yorkers seeking tax incentives, are transforming this historic Caribbean city. Embracing a fusion of Miami's flair and Bushwick's trendy atmosphere, San Juan is evolving into a hip destination. Convenient air travel links make it an effortless East Coast escape, requiring only a penchant for urban sophistication and a spirit of exploration. No passports necessary for this cosmopolitan journey. Read more about the evolving scene in San Juan: [Link to the article](https://lnkd.in/ef-ghRiN)

My first article on Italy Magazine is about street art festivals transforming Italy's rural area. "In recent years, a wave of urban art initiatives has helped transform some of Italy’s depopulated villages, rekindling the vibrancy of communities left behind due to brain drain, low birth rates and other big-picture cultural and infrastructural issues. Such festivals — often run by local enthusiasts or cosmopolitan artists with roots in the host villages — are helping to redefine Italy’s sleepy hamlets not as relics of bygone eras, but as living, breathing cultural centers." https://lnkd.in/dcsJuv-s

From Limestone Quarry to World-Class Concert Venue 🎶 Not all quarries end their life in silence. Some find a new purpose—and Dalhalla is one of the most incredible examples. Once a 200-foot-deep limestone quarry in Sweden, it’s now a stunning open-air theater with acoustics rivaling Europe’s best outdoor stages. Since 1995, it’s hosted concerts and performances that echo through its massive stone walls. It’s a powerful reminder that mines and quarries don’t have to be "the end of the story." With vision and creativity, they can be transformed into something completely new. Reclamation isn’t just restoration—it’s reinvention. What’s your favorite example of a reclaimed mine or quarry? Drop it in the comments—I'd love to see more of these transformations. From time to time it's good to take a critical look at everyday places and how they are designed. They tend to be shaped by the culture and time in which they are built, sometimes including the shortcomings or otherwise outdated ideas of that time. A theater, for example, often follows similar design principles, but are the spaces really accessible to everyone? As I perceive it, many have been designed with a dash of white normativity and internalized ableism. With my friend Heini we dream of more accessible cultural venues, and if you have access to ARK magazine you can read about our thoughts from here:
