"When children’s rights are upheld, everyone benefits. Families and children access better services that respond to their priorities and needs, government policy is better informed and focused on root causes rather than late intervention, and systems are holistic and organised around people, communities and driving – rather than impeding – transformative change." Source: Factsheet 1, The Australian Centre for Child Rights (2024) https://lnkd.in/gtYmcRJp It is up to governments, but it is also up to every single one of us as adults to protect and uphold children's rights. #HumanRightsDay #ChildRights #ChildrensRights.

To prevent more children from coming to harm, we need to centre children’s rights and perspectives in designing interventions across governments, online service providers, civil society organisations, and all responders. Child-centred approaches are vital as they help ensure interventions and services are responsive to the experiences, rights, and needs of children and young people so they can be safe online. #safeonline #childcentred #child rights

"A child rights approach means ensuring violations and crimes affecting children are considered in every investigation and that children's rights are respected in the process." Learned the nuances of approaching all violations of children's rights by incorporating a child rights approach across the stages of #preparation and #planning, #datacollection, #analysis, and #reporting in the new e-learning course titled, Integrating a Child Rights Approach in Accountability Work, co-created by Save the Children International and Justice Rapid Response. This course is hosted on the online learning platform of the Humanitarian Leadership Academy. Whether as a #frontlineworker supporting child survivors of #sexualabuse or working with #stakeholders of the #childprotectionsystem, advocating for child-friendly services, adopting a #childrightsapproach is crucial to ensuring that children's voices are heard in all matters affecting them, the best interests of children are placed at the center of #supportservices provided to them, and trauma-informed practices are undertaken in all engagement with #children. #childrights #childprotection #csea #evac #stopcrimesgainstchildren #childrensrightsarehumanrights

There are millions of children worldwide, and they all have something in common- their rights👇 The United Nations Convention On The Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history. It defines children as individuals under the age of 18. The UNCRC sets out children's rights in 54 articles and is guided by four key beliefs (details in comment). Every child has the right to: 1. Survival, 2. Protection, and 3. Education, What other child right do you know?☺️ Please share your thoughts in the comment session. Do you know any child rights activists or advocates?
