Dr. Brennan Lowery is looking forward to helping students develop tools to pursue social entrepreneurship and gain real-world experience in social enterprise. Beginning January 2025, Dr. Lowery will be teaching three courses at STU — BUSI 1003: Introduction to Social Enterprise, BUSI 1013: Social Enterprise Case Studies, and BUSI 3053: Social Enterprise Work-Study. “The problems facing our society, like climate change and rapid shifts in community economies, need all possible solutions on the table,” Lowery said. “Social entrepreneurship is an important avenue for creating place-based solutions because they harness the entrepreneurial spirit of individuals or groups that see new opportunities but are grounded in addressing complex societal issues and changing the relationship between business and the community.” Read more: https://bit.ly/4045aAs

We didn't have it figured out. Starting From Me To You ... The Art Of Survival with my mum Judith Neptial was a journey about discovery, it was about doing something with what I had. When my mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2018, we didn’t just want to survive; we wanted to thrive, even in uncertainty. If you’re feeling stuck or unsure of the next step, consider this: 🔑 The smallest steps forward matter. 🔑 Resilience comes from action. 🔑 Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. Social entrepreneurship taught me that no situation is too big to tackle if you start with one simple question: What can I do today?

Around the world millions of children and youth’s needs are not being met. At the same time, local social entrepreneurs who can address these challenges lack the support to grow and maximize their impact. That’s where we at Reach for Change step in. 💪 🚀 We find local social entrepreneurs with promising solutions and we create tailored capacity development programs to help them develop and scale. We also work to establish supportive ecosystems to increase their chances of success. In 2023: ⭐ We ran 35 projects in Europe and Africa ⭐ We supported 47 Social Entrepreneurs in our Incubator and Scaling Readiness programs, who in turn reached 40.000 children and youth ⭐ We trained 124 organizations and 840 individuals to develop skills and an entrepreneurial mindset ⭐ We engaged more than 630 stakeholders to share learnings and develop the social entrepreneurship ecosystem 🔎 Find more stories and data from our work in our latest Social Impact Report - link in comments 🔗 #socialimpact #impactmeasurement #socialentrepreneurship #capacitydevelopment #ecosystemdevelopment #socialinnovation
