Targets of change are not solitary figures; they exist within intricate webs of relationships—families, friends, and communities—all impacted by the shifts that affect them directly. Understanding this interconnectedness is pivotal in providing comprehensive support during times of change. One of the most effective strategies for aiding targets of change is equipping them with the tools to articulate their experiences beyond the workplace. Communication doesn't end when they leave the office; it extends into their homes, shaping conversations, and influencing dynamics with loved ones. By empowering targets with effective communication skills, we enable them to navigate conversations with clarity and confidence, fostering understanding and support within their personal spheres. These tools serve as bridges, connecting the experiences of change within the workplace to the broader context of their lives. At its core, this approach transcends organizational boundaries, recognizing the holistic impact of change in individuals and their communities. It emphasizes the importance of empathy, active listening, and fostering open dialogue as essential components of effective change management. #changemakers #resilience #corporatelife

When Change Shakes Our Foundations: Keeping Our Team Together and Thriving When our company decides to do things differently, it's like shaking a big tree – some leaves fall off. The first to leave are often the stars of our team because they find new jobs easily. Then, others start thinking about leaving too. Some people who stay might feel a bit left out or think they're not as good because they're not leaving. How do we address these challenges and ensure that our team not only remains cohesive but also feels valued and empowered? Here are some strategies we can implement: 1. Open Communication: Let’s talk about why changes are happening and how they can ultimately benefit us all. Understanding the purpose behind decisions can foster alignment and commitment. 2. Inclusive Dialogue: Everyone’s input is valuable. If you have ideas or concerns, we want to hear them. This ensures that all perspectives help shape our approach. 3. Supportive Environment: We’re rolling out training and resources to help everyone adjust smoothly. Embracing new ways of working can be a growth opportunity for everyone involved. 4. Recognition and Appreciation: It’s important to acknowledge the efforts and contributions of those who are navigating these changes with us. Thank you for staying committed and bringing your best every day. 5. Ongoing Engagement: Change is a journey, not a one-time event. Regular check-ins will help us address any concerns and gather fresh ideas moving forward. While change can be unsettling, it also brings a chance to strengthen our bonds and enhance our skills. By supporting each other, we can turn this period of transition into a springboard for collective success. Have you experienced significant changes at your workplace? How did you and your team manage to adapt and thrive? Let's share experiences and tips in the comments! #Teamwork #ChangeIsGood #AdaptingToChange #ProfessionalGrowth

We just wrapped up a series of listening sessions for an organization with their staff as part of a change initiative and we learned so much! We wanted to share 6 things that foster meaningful participation and engagement: ✨ 1. Allow participants to create their own change story ✨ Often, we communicate the need for change by trying to convince people of its necessity. Spoiler alert: this rarely works. Instead, let participants craft their own narratives around change. This not only fosters ownership but also makes the whole process way more relatable and meaningful. ✨ 2. Acknowledge and address power dynamics ✨ Recognize the existing power dynamics within the group and actively work to create a more inclusive and equitable environment. This might mean politely excusing management from certain discussions. Even the kindest manager can unintentionally stifle candid feedback just by being there. Sometimes, it's best to let the staff chat without Big Brother watching. 😅 ✨ 3. Respect peoples' comfort levels ✨ It’s a common belief that creating a psychological space for people to be vulnerable is necessary. However, it’s crucial to respect individuals and their comfort levels. Not everyone wants to spill their guts, and that’s perfectly fine. It's about creating a space where people feel comfortable to share if they choose to, but not pressured to do so. ✨ 4. Build on existing strengths and talk about weaknesses in a constructive way ✨ Identify and leverage the existing strengths and capabilities within the organization. This strengths-based approach can build confidence and momentum for change. This isn't about ignoring weaknesses; it's about continuing to acknowledge and leverage what we’re good at and addresses the elements to change in a constructive way. ✨ 5. Facilitate reflective practices ✨ Incorporate reflective practices that allow participants to think deeply about their experiences, feelings, and learning. This helps individuals and teams to internalize their experiences, understand their implications, and identify areas for personal and collective growth. ✨ 6. Be clear about the conversation type ✨ Participation is a spectrum, and it's crucial to be clear about what kind of conversation you're having. Ensure everyone understands the purpose and scope of the conversation. By being transparent, you help manage expectations and ensure everyone knows their role and the potential impact of their input. ...and so many insights but these come to mind for now. What insights do you have? #change #participation #planning #facilitate #facilitation Sayid Consulting Inc.

A culture thrives when individuals understand their unique impact on the organization, and this impact goes beyond results, most of their impact comes from behavior and Anwar's team offers a valuable framework, breaking it down into three key elements: Mindsets, Attitudes, and Communication. Mindsets are the foundations of our behaviors Attitudes are the way the world sees our mindsets Communication is how we engage based on the mindset and attitude we are portraying at the time. By consciously cultivating these elements, we can foster a positive and supportive environment where everyone can grow and thrive. #organizationalculture #leadershipdevelopment #mindsetovermatter #behavioralchange #communicationiskey #teamwork #positiveculture #personalgrowth #professionaldevelopment

Ok this gets me fired up every time 🔥 Let’s stop referring to organizational culture – it’s not singular. Each time I hear “culture” I swear. There’s multiple cultures vying for attention at any one time in your organization and it’s not always pretty. These cultures will evolve over time and if left unchecked will impact your bottom line, your reputation and your team’s wellbeing. We need to start referring to it as organizational cultures. Guess what just like people, organizations have a number of positive and negative attributes and traits that make up the total sum of who it is. So next time you talk cultures think plural not singular 📣 It will change how you look at your organization and all it's cultural personalities and pieces. 💡I create original OD focused content to engage with, save and refer to later + Develop teams who create opportunities, not fear from organizational mistakes, problems and challenges. If you're new to an environment or culture, it's important to observe and understand the people and surroundings before making adjustments. However, when it comes to your organization, observing for too long can hinder your growth. By absorbing the best practices and positive culture, you can change your attitude and approach to better collaborate with colleagues and friends. Remember, not everything needs to be absorbed and everything can be observed. #professionaldevelopment #organizationalculture #growthmindset

If you want people to genuinely care, you need to change their beliefs, not just their actions. The Action Trap® occurs when leaders find themselves in a continuous cycle of implementing new actions to change results, rather than addressing the underlying experiences that lead to those results. Our beliefs stem from our experiences. So, if you want to instill a new belief, you need to create a new experience. Dr. Jessica Kriegel, our Chief Scientist of Workplace Culture, discusses this in the following TEDx clip bellow. Here is the full link to the talk: https://bit.ly/4aA6pK9 #workplaceculture #employeemotivation #actiontrap #tedx
