What we can learn from Formula 1 🏎️ 🏆 From her very first Australian Grand Prix in March this year, Bree Delaney headed to Singapore this week, where she witnessed her hero's win #landonorris. Here's a couple things she has noticed/learned from being trackside: 🤝Teamwork makes the dream work. Watching a crew swap out 4 tyres in the space of 2 seconds (1.8 if you're McLaren 🧡) at a pit stop is nothing short of miraculous 🛠️ In the thick of the dirty work is where the real magic happens. Even though the drivers are the face of the sport, the engineers + technicians are constantly working to repair, improve + upgrade the car so it's competitive to race 💎 Nothing worth having comes easy. Formula 1 teams are always pushing the limits, + sometimes they fail. But, they continue to innovate + resolve issues to try to create the fastest car on the grid In the words of recent 2024 British Grand Prix winner, Sir Lewis Hamilton, “In racing there are always things you can learn, every single day. There is always space for improvement, and I think that applies to everything in life." The parallels to business performance abound. Intrigued? Let's chat ☎️ 📧 #bevibrant #formula1 #ausgp #singaporegp #mclaren #organisationaldevelopment #learneveryday

I’ve been imagining how my old colleagues at Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team are feeling as they arrive at work today. Nothing beats the atmosphere around the factory the day after a race win. For the most part, working at an F1 team is just like any other job; you turn up, do your work and go home again. However, there are very few jobs where the impact of your work is played out to a global audience, where a tenth of a second can mean the difference between winning and losing, and the emotional highs and lows have such intensity. There is no hiding in F1, no waiting until the end of the quarter to see how the results have gone, no wondering if what you are doing is making a difference – everyone in a Formula 1 team knows that their work matters. So today in Brackley, team members will be arriving with a feeling of satisfaction of a job well done. The exhilaration of the win yesterday will have subsided to be replaced by a confidence, a spring in the step and a smile as they congratulate each other when they see their colleagues. The race debrief in the race bays, a sea of PETRONAS green race-winners t-shirts, with a glass of bubbly in hand, won’t be triumphalist. Yes, this is the second win in a row, but the first was down to luck when Max and Lando collided. Lewis’ win yesterday was balanced by the DNF for George. There will be an honest analysis of what went well and what went wrong, with an understanding of just how narrow the margins of victory were for Lewis; a couple more laps and Max would have had a fighting chance of taking first place. Above all, there will be a sense of humility because this is not the end of the season; it is just one result, albeit a great one. As they leave the debrief, their minds will already be focussed on the next race, eager to do what they can individually and collectively to perform at the highest level at the Hungaroring in two weeks time, in the hope that the Racing Gods allow them to taste the sweetness of victory again.

What would you do if your goals remained out of reach for 100, 200, or even 500 days? Would you continue pursuing them, failure after failure? How about 945 days? Lewis Hamilton, a name synonymous with excellence in racing, knows this struggle all too well. For 945 days, he raced without a win. Imagine yourself in this situation... the doubts creepin in, the whispers telling him he wasn’t good enough, that his career was over as he faced failure after failure. But he didn’t quit. and? Today, at his final home race with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team everything changed. Hamilton sezed his 9th British Grand Prix victory— after nearly 3 years without the top step of the podium. His team played a pivotal role, consistently reminding him of his talent and fueling his love for racing. This is an essential aspect for anyone pursuing a career—whether as a racing driver, a business development head, an HR director, a CEO, or an accountant. There will be days when your confidence wavers and nothing goes right. When facing setbacks, recall this moment, this win, his resilience. Ask for help. Speak up when overwhelmed. Learn to rely on others. Success often comes when you least expect it, just beyond the toughest challenges - and it does taste better when its harder to reach. What a perfect last British GP for Lewis in Mercedes colors.

While Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 team have almost 60 % of the 2020 partners on board also 2024 Aston Martin have 11 %. Mercedes have one of the most stable, small changes from year-to-year, partnership network in Formula 1. It is perhaps unfair to compare the Mercedes-AMG Petronas network with Aston Martin, simply because Aston Martin was Racing Point in 2020. But on the other hand it is interesting to know how much a partnership network changes when a privateer team becomes a works team. Sauber will probably face the same massive changes in the partnership network when Audi takes over. In the picture we see the Racing Point partnership network 2020 compared with the network 2024. Left from 2020 are: 👉 Pirelli is as a F1 tire supplier still with Aston Martin 👉 Canadian Bombardier has been with fellow Canadian since Stroll invested in Formula 1 👉 JCB, the UK manufacturer of construction equipment, is also still with Aston Martin. American Movil, Telcel, Claro and Infinitum, the Slim family companies, followed to Sergio Perez to RedBull Racing in 2021. BWT is with Alpine F1 and Ravenol with VISA CashApp RB F1 team.

This F1 season for the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team is more important than any other. One of the biggest reasons is giving their star driver, Lewis Hamilton a good car to drive before he leaves the team in 2025. According to me, Toto Wolff has taken Lewis's departure in stride and is doing everything he can to make this season memorable for him and restore the team's former glory. Here is the article about: 1. Toto Wolff's expectations for the season 2. Lewis's departure and how it affects him and the team, 3. James Allison signing a long-term contract with the team, and the critical role he has played in finding W14's shortcomings and improving W15 accordingly. Wolff admits Mercedes F1’s attempts to return to glory “won’t be a linear path” following W15 launch

Can a sticker win a race? Maybe not. But it can stop you from losing a race... From my experience providing in-race regulatory cover, I was excited in the nerdiest way possible by Porsche Penske Motorsport's recent Qatar WEC win. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝? Porsche Penske's leading #6 car collided with an LMGT3 Lexus with about 35 laps to go in the 2024 Qatar 1812km. The #6 car was damaged and the mandatory sticker displaying the car number was destroyed. The 2024 WEC Sporting Regulations state that the sticker "...𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘪𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘮𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴". And "𝘐𝘧 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘺 𝘢 𝘤𝘢𝘳 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘯𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴 (𝘣𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘳 𝘣𝘺 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵), 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘙𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭." 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 Porsche Penske took the risk averse approach of pitting the #6 car and placing a replacement sticker within the required location to ensure regulatory compliance. Would they have got a penalty? Probably not (as this was genuine accident damage) but having earned the luxury of being able to make a quick stop and ensure compliance, they avoided any regulatory wrangling. 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: 📏 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 – showed perfect knowledge of the WEC Sporting Regulations and the ability to quickly retrieve information. ✅ 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 – regulatory decision-making in a live-race scenario is hard. Some teams have lawyers on standby to review / double-check regulations, others will rely on the extensive knowledge of their Sporting Directors / Team Managers who are usually regulatory experts. It requires exceptional teamwork and planning to execute these quick-thinking solutions. 🪟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 – Porsche Penske created some great content from an otherwise dry regulatory topic (see linked post). Their social media admin explained the regulations, answered questions from fans on the topic, and took suggestions for how to approach this in future. Sports regulations are predominantly a negative topic so it’s great to see a positive spin. Let me know if you want to discuss sports regs, in-race cover, or methods for ensuring regulatory preparedness. #WEC #Motorsport #Porsche #Motorsportlaw #Sportslaw https://lnkd.in/erJ5DGQw
Life In The Pit Lane - Le Mans, WEC & IMSA on Instagram: "That crease will haunt Andre for life 😅 But knowing that putting that sticker on that car so fast meant that we won the race gives us all a feeling that will last forever. Here’s why… When a GT3 car didn’t see our race leading #6 Porsche 963 coming up the inside, it turned in and hit us. The illuminated car number was destroyed… and the WE

Turning Motorsport Success into Business Triumphs: 6 Principles I've Learned from Toto Wolff I've been inspired by Toto Wolff, the Team Principal of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, and wanted to share some lessons I've learned from his leadership, and the way he organizes a team before competition. Teamwork: Toto Wolff led Mercedes to eight consecutive World Constructors' Championships (2014-2021) by emphasizing teamwork. Just like his team shares ideas to win races, we can work together to reach our goals. 🤝 Open-Mindedness: Listening to feedback from his team. This open-mindedness helps him stay ahead of the competition. By valuing different opinions and encouraging everyone to speak up, we can find new ways to succeed. There is no ego when it comes to teamwork. 🧠 Trust: He trusts his team to do their best, and they trust him back. This trust has created a strong, united team. Building trust at work helps everyone perform their best and stay connected. ❤️ Helping Others Grow: He focuses on helping his team members develop their skills. He believes that everyone has potential and works to help them grow. We should support our coworkers, helping them improve and take on new challenges. 🌱 Being Honest: Toto is known for his transparency. He shares his plans and goals with his team, which helps everyone understand and work together. Being honest at work builds strong relationships and fosters a sense of unity. 🗣️ Focusing on Success: While Toto cares about his team, he is also focused on winning. He sets clear goals and works hard to achieve them, holding himself and his team accountable. We should set clear goals and work diligently to achieve them, just like Toto. 🏆 Toto Wolff's leadership has transformed Mercedes within Formula One. By embracing team dynamics we can transform our business challenges into successful triumphs. #Leadership #Motorsports #Innovation #FinancialSuccess #MercedesAMGF1
