Can you spat the different lighting? Some will say it is the CCT (correlated color temperature of the light, warmer verses whiter). Some may say it is the beam angle, one being wider and the other narrower. Some may say both. However, this is the EXACT same light used for all light fixtures in the picture. The only difference is the material finish on the building. This is to show the impact of finishes on lighting. The white finish reflects light better. So we see the beam at its full wideness and we also see the 4500K light appear it's normal CCT. On the bronze part of the building the light appears narrower because darker finishes absorb more light, so were only seeing the center punch of the fixture. Also, it reflects the light back darker so it gives it the appearance of a 2700K light source, even though it is the same 4500K. #Exterior #exteriorlighting #light #architecture #design #multi-family #apartments #design

This design project for a townhouse renovation in Montreal highlights the transformative potential of architectural interventions. By carefully manipulating natural light, materiality, and spatial design, we were able to create a warm, inviting, and visually dynamic space. Key Features: Harnessing natural light: The design capitalizes on the abundant natural light entering from the east and west. Large windows and strategic openings maximize daylight penetration, creating a明亮 and airy atmosphere. Materiality and warmth: The use of warm colors and natural materials, such as wood and stone, contributes to a cozy and inviting ambiance. The careful selection of materials also enhances the textural quality of the space. Fractal-inspired staircase: A striking sculptural staircase serves as a focal point, drawing the eye upwards and creating a sense of depth and dynamism. The intricate design, inspired by fractal patterns, adds a unique and contemporary touch to the space. In our third coverage of this exemplary home, we showcase another perspective of detailing when lighting design is artfully applied. Light complements texture and transparency, studying all possible angles for a beautiful, thought-provoking scheme. How do we do this? By connecting internal and external spaces, understanding different vantage points when standing anywhere on the property. We ask ourselves, how do we want people to experience this space? Our designers pick out unique design elements; in this shot the foliage of a feature tree, a play of light and shadow on the overhanging travertine-clad ceiling. Understanding water’s reflectivity, light brings depth to the outdoor courtyard, the mass of water mirroring the design within. The substantial overhang not only challenges conventional structural design but also plays with perception and gravity. The use of a reflective water feature beneath this cantilever intensifies the illusion of the upper mass effortlessly hovering in the air.
