We had the incredible honor of hosting a powerhouse keynote panel at Quantum World Congress 2024, featuring PsiQuantum's EVP of Public Sector, Mark Brunner; Chief Business Officer, Stratton Sclavos; and Gabe Sulkes, Investment Director at Trade and Investment Queensland. The panel explored the vital role of public-private partnerships in accelerating the future of fault-tolerant quantum computing and catalyzing economic growth in regions like Queensland. 🇳🇱 Building on our outstanding research, QuTech’s economic impact in the Netherlands, and particularly in Delft, is becoming increasingly visible. It is not only evident from our research collaborations with globally operating technology giants but also from our rapidly expanding ecosystem of quantum companies. This ecosystem encompasses start-ups and scale-ups in quantum computing and quantum networking, as well as international companies that join the House of Quantum to establish a Dutch or European presence in proximity to the quantum talent that is concentrated in Delft. 🤝 The companies within the Delft ecosystem are transforming laboratory discoveries into tangible real-world applications, extending the quantum domain to involve an increasing number of people and disciplines. 🌐 Scaling Quantum Computing: Spotlight on the German Ecosystem I was pleased to discuss this question in yesterday's panel at #AFQC2024 together with Michael Scharnberg of Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz, Bjoern S. of Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, Julia Feddersen of Quantum Delta NL and Dr. Robert Axmann from Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. And the outcome? As Germans, we can be proud of our progress in quantum technologies over the past five years. Through courageous and substantial public funding already in 2020, Germany became a frontrunner in the Age of Quantum Technologies 2.0 across all three Technology Fields: Sensing, Communication, and Computing. And became a global thought leader. The central question: How do we continue this success story? 1️⃣ Trust in our strength - we come from an excellent academic landscape and successfully integrated our industry as well as established enormous start-ups 2️⃣ Always critically reflect the status quo - Quantum technology is not a self-fulfilling prophecy.
