Flintco partnered with Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs at Del Valle ISD and Crockett High School within Austin Independent School District to give high school students a firsthand look about what a career in construction could look like for them. Our skilled trade partners, project team at The Modern, and many colleagues shared their time, story, and professional insight with the students. Thank you! The workforce development career opportunities in construction are limitless. The bounty for those who embrace the challenge is plentiful. If you need a shot of job satisfaction I strongly suggest partnering with a local school. Two schools is even better. Invite the teachers (thank you!) and students to your office. Explain what you do and invite your colleagues to do the same. Take the class on a tour of a project. Ask your partners to get involved. Talk about your career journey with the students, share your story and excitement about the opportunities available for all. Share a meal. It doesn’t take much to change the life trajectory of a young person. You’ll be glad you did.
