Do you know what it takes to be a public servant? 🤠 Hats off to Two Rivers Housing (Gloucester), led by the outstanding Hayley Selway, who never misses a beat. Hayley is spearheading a tremendous cultural transformation at Two Rivers, working to shift the organisation towards a truly people-centric approach. ✨ It’s not every day I encounter a team as energised as the one at Two Rivers. Here are colleagues who not only love their work but deeply value their teams and each other. Incredible! 👏 🚀 I’ve been invited to embark on a series of transformational work with them, aiming to help the organisation achieve its core business imperatives. Yesterday, I ran two sessions – one with the Senior Management Team and another with the Board – and this is just the beginning. 💡 We’re diving into important topics like ‘Othering’, belonging and risk assessment, values alignment and personal responsibility, the Equality Impact Assessment, and a rediscovery of DEIB as inherent human values beyond political correctness. All of this work is centred on fostering relational, community-driven interactions rather than mere transactional engagement. 👀 💬 I can’t think of a more rewarding way to spend a day than in a receptive and collaborative space, working together to create policies that reflect and sustain values across both personal and organisational realms. 🌍 This kind of culture, where every individual feels a sense of belonging and empowerment, is where people—and communities—thrive. 👌🏿 Housing Matters, Tai Pawb, Big Housing
Inspiring day with colleagues and Board Members. Started with the brilliant Dr Gifford Rhamie (PhD, FAETC) supporting us in our ‘inclusion and belonging’ journey, followed by a thought provoking session on our strategic approach to our people and finishing up with a celebratory dinner in honour of our fantastic outgoing Chair Yvonne Leishman. Perfect! Two Rivers Housing #twogether

🧡 TRUTH & RECONCILIATION 🧡 TAP Network's hosted "The Truth and Reconciliation Lunch & Learn event" last year that can be found on the Resource Hub: https://lnkd.in/gqetj-Cq with First Nations Technology Council & always grateful to Chastity Davis-Alphonse and Deyen's 2024 program offering #Canadian #History through the Lens of Indigenous Women. This session focused on creating an #inclusiveworkplace culture by addressing the unique challenges and experiences faced by Indigenous people. Employers gained insights and tools to create supportive environments for #Indigenous individuals and how to create meaningful #reconciliation within the Tech sector. Discussion on success stories and resources including terminology were provided for participants. This event provided a learning opportunity to the technology sector's HR, C-suite Executives and staff members to learn about Canadian History through an Indigenous lens, research conducted by the First Nations Technology Council & resources/tools available to enhance inclusion of #Indigenous people in the workplace. The partnership made an impact on Canadian employers by raising awareness and improving workplace commitment to change within their organizations. Notable connections were made between IWorks, FNTC and employers. TAP Network is a NFP that is grateful to our sponsors (current & past) who make sharing sessions like these possible. That’s why we’re proud to share how we’re actively working to fulfill our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Inclusive Programs: We’ve expanded our outreach to ensure that our holistic development programs in sports, education, and life skills are accessible to youth from all walks of life. This year, we’ve partnered with local schools and community centers in underrepresented neighborhoods to bring our programs directly to those who need them most. Partnerships with Purpose: We’ve teamed up with the West Orange Dream Center, a leader in promoting DEI, to implement training and resources that help us better serve our diverse community. This partnership allows us to continually evolve our approach, ensuring that our programs are inclusive and equitable. Cultural Competency Training: Our team has undergone comprehensive cultural competency training to enhance our understanding and support of the unique needs of the communities we serve. This training equips our coaches and mentors with the skills they need to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all participants.
