Today, we celebrate International Women's Day, which is not a destination for all of us—one annual day of awareness for a gender-equal world that has been done for over a century. In Indonesia alone, gender equality seems to be a far-fetched dream, particularly in ensuring that women have equal access to a higher position in the workplace. Our founder, (Angelina) Yusridar Mustafa, analysed that based on the National Statistic Bureau in 2022, 38,98% of total employees in Indonesia are women and only 10,98% work in a professional job. Most part-time job workers are also dominated by women, meaning that women tend to have less income than men. This situation results from the glass ceiling phenomenon, which restricts women's ability to pursue education, jobs, and promotions in the workplace. Therefore, diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace are critical to ensuring that women are included and have equal rights. What can we do now? For further reading on diversity and inclusion in the workplace as a reflection on International Women's Day, see this link: https://lnkd.in/g7DAry5U. #inspireinclusion #genderequality #genderequity #decolonialknowledge #decolonialfeminism #feminism #tulisanpuan
