Such a great event! Really valuable insights on the technologies that will drive retail efficiencies in cannabis. I believe it's so important for us as brands to understand the challenges faced at the retail level. Last nights discussion, specifically in regards to supply chain management has me thinking how the brand + retailer relationship can become more effective, and what technologies will bridge the gaps! I think back to my retail days, and irresponsible purchasing habits that likely did a disservice to my customers, brand partners, AND finance teams. Being OOS frustrates your customers, shifting them to another product disrespects the brand that likely invested $$'s to earn that customer, and over compensating for that OOS challenges your finance team. The industry has come so far, but these are still some of our biggest challenges as a brand, with very little control of our shelf space and retailer stocking habits. I'm curious to see what the technological future holds, and also wonder how PAX can assist our retail partners NOW to provide data driven insights, and relieve any operational burdens in supply chain management. When we work together to minimize these bottlenecks ... the brand, retailer, and CUSTOMERS win. Thank you Dutchie!

How's your Independence Day promotional planning going? The team at Surfside put together a handy little 1-pager outlining #cannabis sales trends from 2023 to help retailers and brands understand which summer holidays are worth investing in. Top summer holiday? Independence Day, of course. July 3rd, 2023, saw a 31% spike in sales, which is comparable to other ethnographic opportunities like the Super Bowl (42% spike on Saturday) and Halloween (27% on 10/31). This year, with Independence Day being on a Thursday, #Surfside is expecting 2 x the sales (closer to 60%). To put Independence Day in context July 4th promotions account for 1.7% of your annual revenue And 7% of summer revenue. That's nothing to sniff at. Check out the Surfside report today. SAVE THE DATE March 19th & 20th 2025! Hall of Flowers at Ventura County Fairgrounds Come for the #business and #culture stay for the #community. They will again be bringing together some of California’s finest cannabis, buyers and product manufacturers. With a great lineup of brands, retail buyers, and tightly vetted entrepreneurs, investors and thought leaders. Excited to have my teammate Kristi Vaneé Kem on stage with the other great ICONOCLASTS Speakers. AUTUMN SHELTON, Benjamin Kraim, Amanda Tingler, Bill Levers, Dustin Moore, Joey Brabo, Kyle Sherman, Ramon Garcia, Ted Lidie. The cannabis industry continues to grow even in long time established markets. Mature established markets comes with their own issues having gone first. But they also have a lot of advantages with years of experience behind them. Even though these markets lack in high profit margins for wholesalers and retailers. They can make up for in sheer volume of sales revenue. Per BDSA California is forecasted $5.3 Billion in Sales with Michigan expecting over $3.5 Billion. So the focus now becomes how to expand #profits for operators in established markets. They usually have sales covered if they have been post revenue for more then 3-5 years. What are people excited about for the California Cannabis industry in 2025? (Rachel Wright, CPA, MST, Steve Riparip, Kate Dymedenko, CPA, Seibo Shen (Chief Innovator), BRUCE ANDERSEN, MBA, MS-TAX, CPA, Taylor Stafford and Jonathan Black are locals, you tell me.)

learn more about cannabis regulations and the industry in Massachusetts. great job, Comms!
Another fantastic piece by the team! We premiered this video at the Massachusetts State House “State of Cannabis” event a few weeks ago. It’s a great primer on how the Cannabis Control Commission regulates the industry from seed to sale and the steps cannabis products go through before they reach the hands of consumers. Huge shout out to Fiona St. Pierre, Jessica Porter, Esq., and Tim Caputo whose cross-team collab ran the show on this one. Amazing job, guys!

As medical cannabis patient numbers expand in Georgia, each of the state's six licensed dispensaries will soon open new locations. As Fine Fettle's Georgia Market President Judson Hill explains, establishing the state's program was slow-moving. Despite initial challenges, Fine Fettle has already made tremendous progress in helping patients get their needed medicine. 💪 This year alone, Fine Fettle opened its first three dispensaries in Smyrna, Peachtree Corners, and Decatur -- with more locations set to open across the state as the program grows. We're proud to work with partners like Fine Fettle and Georgia Medical Cannabis Society, who are continuously paving the way for better access, safer use, and a patient-centered program in Georgia! 💕 With leaders like Judson, Yolanda Bennett, and Angela S. Weston, MBA, M.S. at the helm, the future of Georgia's medical cannabis program is in good hands 🙌
Our Georgia medical program got some seemingly good press this week as we surpassed the 25,000 patient count…but what’s the real story? Many of the industry publications such as MJBiz, Marijuana Moment, Green Market Report, and Highly Objective picked up the media coverage that highlighted GA’s medical patient growth 🍑📈 While I definitely appreciate folks starting to pay attention to what’s going on in our state considering we have 11 million people and a strong 🌱 culture rooted in both the agricultural and hip hop communities. The reality is the legislation first passed here in 2015 so taking 9 years to hit 25k patients is NOT a great story… -It took 5 years for the state to even issue an RFP for licensees (2020) 📑 -6 vertically integrated licenses were awarded a year later (2021) 🏆 -Most of the losing applicants contested and sued which stalled the program another 2-3 years (2021-2024) 👨🏼⚖️ -Finally Fine Fettle was able to open our first 3 dispensaries this summer! (2024) 🏪 The real losers in all of this were the #patients of #Georgia as they have been delayed in getting access to the medicine they need. Fortunately this year we have brought the focus back to the patients and partnering with groups like Veriheal has helped increase the patient count from ~12,000 at the start of 2024 to ~26,000 by end of year 🪪 Thanks to Kymberly for having me on the pod & for all the work y’alls team does to create greater access for Georgians! https://lnkd.in/gq4RSgAV

Sooo, we’re doing a thing and bringing cannabis sales and consumption to the California State Fair. I believe the future of cannabis is in social consumption. Creating the first cannabis restaurant was (and is!) cool but….it wasn’t until I met Lauren and Dustin that I realized that it’s actually events that are the best opportunity for normalization. [Side note: I remember working on pitch decks for the business back in 2020-pandemic times and we had an events section. I’m 100% sure I said “hey guys, there will never be events again. I think it’s over? Sure we want to include this?” Happy to be wrong about that. 😅 ] Think of it this way– people that are going to lounges/cafes are intentionally seeking out a cannabis experience. Events tho? You’re tapping into an entirely new audience. These are folks that aren’t seeking out cannabis and just so happen to be at an event where cannabis co-exists. The mindset is different. The ability to change perception is different. And that is incredibly powerful when we are talking about destigmitizing the plant. Which is our mission at embarc– to destigmitize and normalize cannabis…at scale. What better place to do it than at one of the most normal events ever? Where corn dogs, cotton candy and now cannabis will co-exist for the first time in 170 years! See you in Sacramento! PS- I just got a sneak peak of Terri's State Fair sunhat and she’s ready for the heat! 🔥 #cannabis #cannabisretail #cannabiscommunity #marketing #history
