Uncovering the Root Cause of Your Dis-Ease 🌻 The first step in healing any dis-ease is to explore - and to get honest! - about how it makes you FEEL. Dis-eases are energetic blockages that occur after years of unconscious emotional patterns - in thoughts, feelings or habits. They reveal where we have been unwholesome with ourselves. As well as treating the physical symptoms, we must unearth the deeper emotional, mental and energetic causes behind the experience. Steps to explore during a meditation or why journalling are: Step 1: Tune Into the Feelings - How does this dis-ease make you feel on a day-to-day basis? On the long term? Notice any sensations of pain, fatigue, frustration, etc. - What emotions do you most associate with this health issue - sadness, anger, fear, grief? - Pay attention to any changes in your mood, energy levels or sense of wellbeing. 2. Unpack the Messages - What might your body be trying to communicate through these feelings and sensations? - Consider how unresolved emotions, beliefs or imbalances could be manifesting physically. - Reflect on what areas of your life may be out of alignment or in need of more ease and self-care. 3. Explore the Meaning - How has this dis-ease limited you or impacted your day-to-day life and activities? - What unconscious payoffs might the dis-ease be providing - excuses, sympathy, avoidance, etc? This one is particularly difficult as most of us may struggle to accept responsibility for how we have unconsciously creates suffering for ourselves... - Shine a light on any deep-seated fears, shame or other shadow aspects you may be avoiding. 4. Embrace the Lessons - Approach your dis-ease with curiosity, rather than judgment or resistance. - Be willing to have honest conversations with yourself about what needs to shift. - Trust that your body's innate wisdom is guiding you towards greater wholeness. The path to healing begins by honoring the messages in your dis-ease. This is a difficult journey, so treat yourself with compassion every step of the way. E-Motions 💫 Our emotions are not just passing mental states - they are dynamic energies that deeply impact our physical health and wellbeing. The very word "emotion" contains the root "e-motion" - energy in motion. Each feeling we experience, from joy to gratitude to anger to grief, is a specific vibrational frequency coursing through our body-mind system. This energetic dimension of our emotions is key to understanding their relationship with disease. Negative, stuck emotions like fear, anxiety, guilt and resentment create disharmony and blockages in the body's energy flows. When we repeatedly suppress or express negative emotions in unhealthy ways, it can have severe consequences for our physical health over time. Sustained states of stress, anxiety, and depression have been linked to a number of physiological issues, including a weakened immune system, digestive problems, and cardiovascular disease. This is due to the body's prolonged state of high alert and the resulting hormonal imbalances and physical tension. Conversely, positive, uplifting emotions like love, joy, gratitude, and compassion promote fluidity and balance in our energetic system. This supports the body's innate self-healing capacities, our immunity and an overall harmony in our body's systems. The ancient yogic and Taoist traditions recognized this deep mind-body connection millennia ago. They developed practices like meditation, breathwork, yoga and qigong to help individuals consciously work with the energetic currents of their emotions. By developing an awareness of the energetic undercurrents of our feelings, we gain the power to consciously transmute unhealthy patterns. The placebo effect is a fascinating phenomenon where a person experiences real, positive outcomes simply because they believe they will. When someone is given a harmless substance or treatment, but told it will help them, their mind can create actual healing responses in the body. This highlights the powerful connection between belief and biology. On the flip side, the nocebo effect shows that negative expectations can cause harm, as people may experience adverse effects just because they believe something will cause them discomfort or illness. Hypnosis works in a similar way to the placebo effect, tapping into the subconscious mind to influence thought patterns and behaviors.
