A cluttered home can make you feel overwhelmed, anxious, and stressed out, but by clearing out unnecessary items, you can create a more serene and organized living space. Here are a few tips to help you declutter: 📦Make Four Boxes Label the boxes: trash, recycle, donate and sell. Everything you decide to get rid of can go into one of those four bins. 🎋Start with Seasonal Decor If any out-of-season decorations are still up, it's time to take them down. Any items that you aren't excited to put up next year are great for the donation bin. ⏳Set a Time Limit Do some decluttering each day and limit the amount of time you spend working on it so it doesn't start to take over your whole life. 🧹Tackle One Zone at a Time Rather than looking at your home as one massive project, break it down into zones that are easier to tackle, and work one zone at a time 🍴Reclaim Your Kitchen Start with your kitchen first. In addition to being one of the most-used rooms in the average house, it's also one of the areas that is most prone to becoming cluttered. 📦Donate If you haven't used something in the last year and you don't have a good place to put it, that's a sign that you don't need it. Time to donate!

The other day I thought, what would help people get rid of their unused stuff? A challenge, of course. But why should people do periodic #purging of their things? There are many reasons, but some of the most important ones are 1. to be able to get rid of the past and see possibilities of what is next in their lives, 2. to be able to be more focused and less distracted in the home. 3. to remove excess things to make the home more relaxing and spacious. If you are looking to get rid of your unused/unwanted stuff, try this challenge. How does the 15-day purging #challenge work? So, here's how it works. It's 15 days of purging challenge that will help you get rid of clutter in your home. The premise is straightforward. On Day 1, get rid of 1 item completely. Bring it to a place to donate. Trash it. Get rid of it. It must completely go on that day. On Day 2, get rid of 2 items. These items need to be removed from the home and donated, trashed, or recycled, and so on. It doesn't matter how big or small the item is. Just that you get rid of it, and you acknowledge that. The things you need to complete this challenge There are a few things you will need for this challenge. Trash bags - buy trash bags that are durable and large. Construction bags work well. This will make it easier to fill up with heavier things. Plus, they are larger, so you can fill the bag and be able to tighten it. Paper lawn bags - These bags are great when you have lots of paper to get rid of. They hold a lot and can be recycled, as well as thing things inside the paper lawn bag. A list of places to donate - feel free to check out our where to donate stuff page, which is updated often for tips and free charitable donation sites for our area sheet. The 15 Day Purging Challenge Please read the comments for each day to help you understand what you may be Visit the blog for more details. #sabrinasorganizing https://lnkd.in/dwq6mJp #Declutteringthehome #declutteringchallenges

Heard of the room-by-room decluttering method? It's pretty self-explanatory. Move room-by-room fully decluttering one space at a time and then move onto the next. This method is simple but effective. It keeps you motivated, so you can see big results faster. It also creates spaces to enjoy your work and boosts your confidence. Start with quick-win spaces, commit to one room at a time, and don't let the trash/donations linger. Avoid one of the cons of this method (making another room a dumping ground) by handling each item once: make a decision about each item (keep, donate, trash, or relocate) so you don't have to decide about that item when you make it to the "dumping ground" for your final room to declutter. If you have any gently used coats or winterwear that you need to declutter, contact me about my 3rd Annual Coat Drive, which is underway. Drop-off locations are in Philadelphia. Outside of Philly? I am sure there is a local charity shop that would be grateful for your donations! More tips on this method here: https://lnkd.in/e3i5e_jx #Declutter #InteriorDesign #Homes

Seasonal clothing and shoes that no longer fit or haven’t been worn in a year can be donated. Clearing out your closet not only creates more space for the upcoming season but also helps those in need stay warm this winter. 2️⃣ Basements and Garages Winter is a great time to tackle those forgotten boxes and old tools taking up space. Decluttering Tip for Seniors: Extra Sheets and Bedding! 🛏️ If you’re working on decluttering your home, here’s something you can do today: take a look at your linen closet! Over the years, it’s easy to accumulate numerous bedding sets, sheets, blankets, and comforters. Do you still need them all? Here’s how to decide what to keep and what to let go: ✅ Keep only 2-3 sets of sheets per bed for easy rotation (one on the bed, one in the wash, and one as a backup or seasonal option) ✅ Assess the bedding: Are these sheets or blankets still comfortable, in good condition, and used regularly? ✅ Ask family members if they want any of the bedding or sheet sets. ✅ Donate gently used bedding to local shelters, thrift stores, or charities to help someone in need. Decluttering now will free up space and make future moves more manageable! 🌟 #declutteringtips #seniorliving #organizedhome #SRES #seniorrealestate #seniorspecialist
