Have you been using AI to write your posts on LI? 👀 Don’t worry, we aren't judging, we (sometimes) use it too! Studies show that over half of longer English posts on LinkedIn are AI generated. Some of us are even using AI to help fine tune our posts. Even if you haven't used AI yourself, chances are you've seen or engaged with an AI generated post. 💭 LinkedIn even offers premium subscribers the option their own in-house AI edit/rewrite tool. As with most things, we think there are pros and cons to AI generated LinkedIn posts. 🤖 Let's dive into some of these: ✅ PROS: - No more writers block! AI can definitely help you to save time and spend less hours staring at your computer not knowing where to start. - Fix this, change that, it needs more of that, AI allows you to edit that rough draft to your hearts desire. - It gives non-English speakers the opportunity to polish their writing and grammar. ❌ CONS: - We've seen our fair share of repetitive content and common AI buzzwords - No one likes comments that lack sincerity left on their posts - Some AI systems have been trained on materials without the originators permission. Sharing this article from today’s Mint newspaper.  It very aptly puts a sentiment that resonates with me-  "𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒑𝒍𝒐𝒚 𝑨𝑰 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒊𝒕 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒖𝒔?" I personally have been experimenting with GenAI. Few learnings from my experiments-  - It works 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝. - You won’t get the best results if you just say, "Get me xx".  - Use it as a 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 and not as the creator  - Use it for 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬 (metaphors, analogies, quotes, etc.) - Use it to 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐬 for grammar and poise  - Use it for 𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐬, like creating quizzes, creating ‘out of office replies’, standard responses  - Use it to 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 or the first drafts for structure  If you leave it alone, AI can make your writing sound too professional (aka mechanical).  Also, the newness in thought is something GenAI cannot achieve.  𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠.  So, learn and use GenAI actively, but 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞. #GenAI #AI #Experimentation #Learnings Do share your best practices and learnings with GenAI.

At a certain point in every creative writer’s life, they’ve loathed AI for it lacks the innate quality of bringing out ideas after a series of writer’s blocks, unfinished drafts, and even random thoughts that fail at crafting the best recipe. But like anything else in this world, we’ve all taken on the challenge to warm up to it. Just like a parent tries to like their child’s partner even if they think their child could do better without this (better or worse) half. What I have enjoyed witnessing the most in my journey while exploring AI is that it does exactly what you want - as long as your ask is clear. And the only way to learn how to ask is to practice. If you are a beginner, wanting to make the most of AI, my first advice to you would be to learn how to ASK. Some examples of great ASKs are: Hi, could you please write a romantic poem for my fiancé in XYZ country? But please make sure it includes some colloquial terms from XYZ country. Could you please give me 5 compelling one-liners describing a white dress with lace borders? There are many more such prompts. To identify a perfect ASK, the simplest way is to see the response. If the result is what you were exactly looking for, congratulations, your ASK, or as they called it - prompt, is correct. AI - can you hear the voice? As LinkedIn has this new Rewrite with AI feature, I am starting to see it. I have a fairly formal writing style in terms of language/grammar, but cutting through it is my own voice, which is pretty relaxed. Re-written with AI it is, frankly, quite ridiculous! But I am starting to spot it in people's posts or replies. Then there was the lady who had two identical replies by two different people on her post - oh AI, you need reprogramming there!! If someone's language is highfalutin there is a good job they hit that rewrite button! Remember, the aspiration is good grammar and literacy; iRobot is not. Come on people - let's hear your authentic voice. We want to know YOU.

𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗣 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁𝘀 🛑   I see too many people struggling to get the expected results from AI tools and questioning the usefulness of AI.   The problem isn't the technology – it's the prompts!   There are only 4 things you need to consider in your prompts:   1. 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲: Tell the AI who it should be (e.g., a helpful assistant, a creative writer). 2. 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸: Clearly define what you want the AI to do (e.g., write a poem, summarise this article). 3. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁: Provide any necessary background information (e.g., target audience, writing style). 4. 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗽𝘂𝘁: Specify the desired format (e.g., list, paragraph, code) and give examples if needed.   You don’t need to use them all, but a few will help!   When you are writing a prompt, remember to: ➟ 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱. ➟ 𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀. The more specific you are, the better. ➟ 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁. Avoid using big, confusing words. ➟ Don't be afraid to hit the "𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲" button. ➟ 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 before having a long conversation Prompting is an art, and different AI platforms can interpret prompts differently. This is sad to see. (Not my smiley, happy face.) The suggestion from LinkedIn to "try writing with AI". We're using AI internally on almost a daily basis now, but suggesting that anybody use it to create written content is the worst possible recommendation. Real, authentic writing comes from the heart. It comes from knowledge and experience you already have — written in your own voice, with your own passion — or from research and deep learning of knowledge you don't have — and again, then presented in your voice with your own unique perspective. On Katie Street's excellent 'How to get more leads from LinkedIn' LinkedIn Live event this week, Rachel Mason from LinkedIn even reiterated how important their Share / Opinion / Advice framework is. Share something interesting, give your opinion on it, and ask for advice and feedback on it to drive real engagement, dialogue and meaningful conversation with your community or peers. As much as I use AI all the time and love it, I’m noticing that it’s raising the bar for writing like a human. Just like people crave human connection and love the feeling of being back in person at events, people will crave what’s clearly human. I looked back at some of my posts from the past couple of weeks and noticed some extra words or minor grammatical errors. The funny thing is, the posts still received engagement. After you read enough AI-generated content (from scratch), you begin to see patterns. - Perfect grammar - Overly emphatic statements about simple points - Cliche adjectives (delves, etc. ) - Rocket emojis 🚀 I’m not suggesting writing using improper grammar, but I think people’s AI-detectors are on alert and will soon dismiss what looks, feels, and smells like someone hit the auto-create button with AI and copied it blindly. But don’t forget to be human. Keep writing and sharing original thoughts, even when assisted by AI. — I’m curious…what are the signals others see that AI created end-to-end content? Do you care? Does it still resonate? How do you think these perceptions will impact how people engage? #ai

Controversially, I LOVE AI. And I don’t really mind using it both in daily life and also at work. In just one week using a few AI tools: 1. Did competitor analysis for a few embeddable editors using my framework and templates 2. Transcribed and analyzed each of the customer research calls and then summarized the research for the slide deck 3. Created LinkedIn content plan with post ideas, lines, video scripts 4. Edited photos in a few minutes to look same for the website + created couple of blog post key visuals 5. Using my prompts and special framework to create decent SEO content in blog post and landing page format 6. Used voice mode with chat GPT to explain some medical terms to my family 7. Uploaded pdf documents to create a summary and translate the medical documentation to Portuguese and English 8. Had a coaching and brainstorm conversation with AI about growing leads for Grow Global Tech GMBH 9. Edited a video removing background noises and fixing eye contact 10. Created a dog training plan, my business German study plan and even got it to train my mom to speak English 💪 Most probably there was more, this are just top 10 what I remembered while writing this post.
