✨ With summer internships winding down, our early careers team wanted to share a few important tips on how to maintain your connections going into the new school year. Just because your internship is over does not mean you need to stop building and strengthening your network!   1. Schedule monthly check-ins with some of your new connections, mentors, etc. 2. Save work email addresses of your new connections - once you leave your work email is typically not accessible. 3. Reach out on LinkedIn and connect with fellow interns and colleagues 4. I landed 3 paid internships in my first year of college… and lost all of them within a month. Back then, I thought more internships meant more learning, more opportunities, and more money. Turns out, I was completely wrong. I was just starting out and didn’t have the skills or time to handle them all. I ended up feeling burnt out and like I wasn’t doing enough anywhere. Long Term Internships >>> One Month Internship As an Intern, your primary focus should be either to fetch a long term internship or seek an extension in your one month internship. But, why? Because, a month is insufficient (mostly) to gain experience and relevant knowledge as the major part is invested in accustoming to the place, understanding the allocation process, developing a sense of trust, showcasing your skills, etc. Additionally, it helps you build a strong relationship with the organisation.
