We think a lot about how to get the best drugs to the right patients, from drug discovery through to care delivery, and clinical trials are a huge part of that process that just hasn't seen any real innovation until now. Lindus Health has reimagined the entire tech stack and created a frictionless "anti-CRO" that has already recruited and treated 35,000 patients. With so much money going into the earlier stages of AI drug discovery we really need a better way to get through this bottleneck to bring patients the treatments that they need. It is great to see a London based company scale so quickly and is just one of many to come from the Amino portfolio.

💡 Lindus Health is the ‘anti-CRO’ fixing the broken clinical trial industry, setting the stage for greater scientific innovation and lower healthcare costs. The company offers clinical trials that are up to three times faster and produce demonstrably better quality trial data than traditional players thanks to an AI and tech-first approach. Today, we are sharing that Lindus has raised a $55 million Series B round led by Balderton Capital with participation from Creandum, firstminute capital, Visionaries Club and Seedcamp. Amino Collective first invested in the seed round in 2021 and participated in the subsequent Series A round. Massive news in the #AltProtein space. Helaina led by Laura Katz, has raised 𝗨𝗦𝗗 𝟰𝟱𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 for their #Lactoferrin #PrecisionFermentation. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲? Two main reasons Firstly the AltProtein sector has suffered massively from investor sentiment in the last couple of years, as investors use BeyondMeat's poor performance in public markets as the windsock for consumer appetite in the space. Helaina has just secured the largest ever raise in Lactoferrin, and we think (according to our friends at Green Queen Media - Sonalie Figueiras and Steve Molino who covered this story in their excellent weekly pod) it puts them squarely on the podium for most capital raised (across multiple rounds) alongside Formo and Perfect Day. A rising tide lifts all ships - having investor sentiment shift back towards AltProtein is great news across all markets, and I look forward to seeing momentum build in the sector. Secondly - 𝗟𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗢 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧. It's a human protein from human breastmilk, and we're on track for making it at scale. It's got massive health implications for both infant formula, and, interestingly, senior formula for eldercare health! With a current market price of USD 1500 per kg, lactoferrin is commercially viable from the start.
