Boxing Day is basically Black Friday 2.0 for a lot of ecom brands and it’s all about how you handle the momentum. Here’s your checklist to focus on today: 1️⃣ Retention over acquisition: The customers you just acquired? Start turning them into repeat buyers. SMS, email flows, and exclusive offers are your best friends right now. 2️⃣ Check your inventory: What’s moving fast? Double down. What’s not? Start planning discounts to clear it out before Q1. 3️⃣ Performance review: Pull early numbers from Christmas campaigns. What worked? What flopped? Use this insight to prep for the January sales rush. 4️⃣ Thank your team: It’s been a long, wild season for everyone. Take a moment to appreciate the people behind the scenes. Today’s not just about the sales, it’s about setting the tone for 2025. Let’s make it count. 🚀

What are people’s thoughts on how close Black Friday and Boxing Day specials are? Are we asking too much of consumers to spend during this time of year? Are our customers becoming overly reliant on these two yearly sales events, leading to slow sales in the weeks before, between, and after them? Consumer Perspective Fatigue from Spending: Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Boxing Day are only a few weeks apart, and consumers often feel pressure to spend during both periods. Challenge: Many consumers may exhaust their budgets during Black Friday sales, leaving less disposable income for Boxing Day or other purchases in December. Strategic Waiting: Savvy shoppers may hold off on purchasing items, waiting for deeper discounts during these key sale periods. Impact: This can create slow sales in the weeks leading up to these events, as people delay spending in anticipation of deals. Business Perspective Reliance on Sale Events: Overemphasis on Black Friday and Boxing Day specials can condition customers to expect discounts, reducing willingness to pay full price at other times of the year. Result: Businesses may struggle to drive sales during the "off" weeks, leading to uneven revenue patterns. Profit Margin Compression: Heavy discounting to compete during these events can significantly impact profit margins. Challenge: While these sales boost revenue short-term, they may undermine profitability and long-term brand value. Potential Solutions Spread Out Promotions: Businesses could focus on smaller, targeted promotions during "off" weeks to smooth revenue and reduce reliance on just two major events. Example: “12 Days of Deals” campaigns or post-Black Friday/pre-Christmas flash sales. Focus on Value, Not Just Discounts: Offering value through loyalty programs, exclusive bundles, or extended warranties can drive purchases without relying on aggressive discounts. Encourage Early Holiday Shopping: Promote early sales (e.g., October or early November) to encourage consumers to spread their spending across the season. Educate Consumers: Shift the narrative to highlight the benefits of buying earlier (e.g., avoiding out-of-stock items, reduced holiday stress) instead of waiting for sales. Black Friday and Boxing Day specials are powerful drivers of sales, but their close timing can create challenges for both consumers and businesses. By adjusting strategies to spread out promotions, focus on long-term value, and engage customers year-round, businesses can reduce reliance on these two events while improving customer satisfaction and revenue stability. #holidays #sales #blackfriday #boxingday #specials

Sales dropping during Christmas? Here’s a game-changing solution you might not have considered. 💥 After working with US-based clients for the past 9 months, I knew sales would take a nosedive after the Black Friday and Cyber Monday frenzy—especially during Christmas. People are busy celebrating, not shopping. But here’s where we got creative: a Boxing Day Sale. I’ll admit, until this year, I had no clue what Boxing Day was. Turns out, it’s a huge shopping occasion in the West, much like Black Friday, where brands offer massive discounts. Boxing Day falls on December 26th, and running a sale from the 26th to the 29th—or even through the 31st—can revive your sales post-Christmas. For a wellness brand, we went from just 4 orders on December 25th to 20 orders on December 26th, simply by leveraging a Boxing Day Sale. Sometimes, it’s not about over-complicating things with endless metrics or strategies. It’s about understanding human psychology—people are too busy during Christmas but are ready to shop again right after. A simple, well-timed offer can make all the difference. Real performance marketing begins when you look beyond the Ads Manager and focus on what truly drives people. What’s your strategy to combat holiday season slumps? Let me know in the comments! #performancemarketing #marketing #metaads #USbasedclient #USmarket #MadeinUSbrand #Boxingday #Christmas #sales #wellnessbrand

Did you buy three Christmas gift options for your partner/child/parent/friend in a panic, landing on one gift and planning to return the other two. You're not alone. After a hectic run to Christmas, Boxing Day sees most retailers gear up for the onslaught of product returns. This behaviour, known as "bracketing", is one of the reasons why returns have increased from 8% to 16% in just five years among US retailers. However the tide is starting to turn, with many brands now trying to make the act of returning an item difficult for the customer. Boxing Day Sales: 4 Consumer Rights You Should Know The holiday sales frenzy can be exciting, but don’t let it leave you unprotected as a consumer. Ambiguous promotions could be challenged. 4️⃣ Sale Price Tags: Retailers are often required to honor the price displayed, even if it’s incorrect.
