Breaking Free from Labels: Embracing Your True Self 🦋 Too often, we let labels define us - "bipolar," "anxious," "difficult," or even seemingly positive ones like "overachiever" or "perfectionist." But here's the truth I've learned through my journey from homelessness to building Fire Health Safety Solutions: Labels are just stories we or others tell about us. They're not our destiny. Key insights I've discovered: - Labels can become self-fulfilling prophecies - Your past experiences inform but don't determine your future - Mental fitness is about growing beyond limitations Through my work in mental fitness coaching, I've witnessed countless individuals shed limiting labels and discover their authentic selves. 🏃♀️Feeling better by finding moments to move 🌟 Life can really get in the way of exercise - it’s not always easy to make time for a full training session. That’s why we love this year’s Mental Health Foundation #MomentsForMovement campaign to look after your mental health by finding small ways to move, daily. Check out some tips below: 🫖 Stressed out and in need of a cup of tea? Try a kettle-boil-workout. Some lunges, jump squats or even a counter-top push-up to help increase your blood flow and your mental wellbeing. Two for one when you finally enjoy your brew! 📖 Working at a desk all day? There are plenty of ways to keep moving. Try stretching with overhead reaches, or torso-twists, and take regular breaks where you stand up and walk around. 🥊 Rhythmic movement, back and forth or side to side in boxing, protects us by keeping us off the centre-line - making us a harder target to hit! This rocking motion can also protect us if we’re feeling anxious. If you can’t make it to the gym, try shadow-boxing. Just 5-10 minutes at home each day can help you to feel better and improve your reflexes.
