Sometimes I ask myself why people would actually book a coaching session. I start to doubt. But then I remember my own experience with coaching. During my certification process, all students have both coached and been coached regularly. This serves a dual purpose: we learn to apply the techniques we’re studying while also experiencing the transformative power of coaching as coachees. Personally, I’ve never felt as balanced and true to myself as I did during this time. Coaching is an investment in yourself. A coach acts like a mirror, reflecting what they observe in your words, tone, and body language. This mirroring helps you gain insights that can be difficult to achieve on your own. Our minds are efficient and often jump from one thought to the next, leaving us lost in the process. A coach notices the subtle differences in how you express yourself when something truly matters to you or has a significant impact on you. Coaches ask many questions - but they don’t provide the answers. You hold the answers. However, finding them requires the right questions, and in our daily lives, we rarely pause to ask ourselves those deeper, more meaningful questions. Lastly, I want to highlight the value of coaching techniques. These tools guide you, help you better understand yourself, and enable you to shift your perspective when needed. To be honest, I think I could continue listing even more benefits of coaching. Maybe I will in my next post… 🤭

I facilitated the best coaching session of my Life, Most of the time, we coaches keep doubting ourselves, "Am I good enough" as a Coach, " Am I being effective for my client" and I had these questions too at the beginning of my journey and they still creep in at times. Our mind races to look for solutions, "Should I do another training to learn new model?" should I study another modality? and so on. What happened during this session answered many questions that I had and I got a clearer understanding of " What is the essence of Coaching?" We started the session at a point, where my client did not know what exactly need to be discussed, we still continued the conversation and in first few minutes, we had our agreement on What to explore, In this session, I did not use any Coaching Frame or any Model, I simply coached with presence, sensing the verbal and non verbal cues and where we concluded was a phenomenal experience, both of me and my client. Two Coaching Knowledge lessons got reinforced: 1. Coaching with presence 2. Coaching the person rather than coaching the problem. Many Times we are not able quantify what happened, but we can sense. So Coaches who getting their basics right( Rather than day dreaming about become a billion dollar Coach), I RESPECT YOU 😊 Building the foundation strong is the first step to creating the tallest tower.

I avoided getting caught up in a pointless debate about 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠! The idea was, that men can’t effectively coach women because they can't fully understand their experiences. I believe coaching is fundamentally different. Here’s a 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 to explain my perspective: I had a coaching session with a coach in training, part of their ICF certification. This person knew nothing about my job, my skills, or my business. And yet, in just 30 minutes, I gained: - Clarity about my situation - A sense of relief and direction - A well-formulated plan of action The magic? The coach didn't need to know the details of my professional life. Instead, she skillfully guided me to unlock the solutions that were already within me. This is what great coaching is all about: helping people tap into their own greatness. True coaching is not about understanding every aspect of someone's life—it's about helping them realize the answers they already hold.

When I tell people about my evolving journey as a coach, I get a broad spectrum of responses. They range from, “So, what do you teach?”, to, “Isn’t that therapy?” So, I decided to pen this article. How often do you adopt the mindset of a beginner? I have been (formally) coaching for close to 3.5 years, with a lot of impromptu coaching before that. Something changed when I started using a formal methodology. Things became easier, and I quickly felt the power of owning my role. When I received my promotion, something happened, though. I started to doubt my coaching. Why? Although I was still coaching, the approach to coaching changed. I went from coaching students to coaching coaches. I expected myself to still be an expert even though I was doing something new. Luckily, I had a few coaches in my corner that helped me shift my mindset. Things are changing, and I am readjusting to my role. But the learning does not end here... As a coach, I teach people about new approaches to their work. Before working with me, many coaches felt competent. The weird thing was that this confidence started to wane after three months. Good news: THIS IS NORMAL. These coaches are learning a new way of doing work, trying out new methods, and exploring new pathways. It makes sense that things would feel uncomfortable. My role as a coach is to help them navigate this growth period just like my coaches have helped me. It can be uncomfortable to step into a beginner mindset and experience growth, but the results are worth it.

As this year comes to an end, I’ve reflected on how much I’ve grown professionally just this year. It’s been an amazing year, with so many things aligning to make it successful, but there’s one thing I really want to highlight that made a big difference for me: coaching. At the start of this year, I asked myself a very important question: What is my "why"? My reason, my purpose. I don’t have the perfect answer yet, but the year isn’t over, and I feel closer to that answer than ever before :) One of the key reasons for this progress has been the coaching sessions I had with Ionut Iliuta. Coaching gave me the space to reflect, refocus, and see challenges as opportunities. It helped me grow, find clarity, and make real progress toward my goals—not just solving problems, but truly understanding what drives me. The most exciting part? I gave myself all the answers. I realized the answers were already there, within me. Coaching didn’t give me solutions—it gave me the tools to find them myself. Ionut Iliuta’s thoughtful guidance made a huge difference, and I’m so grateful for the experience. If you’re looking to grow or gain clarity in your journey, I highly recommend working with him. Gone are the days of casual conversations and vague advice. Today's coaching is a sophisticated blend of science, management, psychology, and strategic thinking. We're not just having conversations – we're facilitating deep, meaningful transformations. The field has elevated itself: Rigorous methodologies backed by research Professional certifications and stringent standards A holistic approach that goes beyond surface-level goals So, are we still "coaching"? Or have we become architects of human potential? The line between coaching and transformation is blurring, and I'm here for it.
