So important
Managing Director of Healthcare Compliance Solutions Ltd, supplier of NZ designed Aged Care Software and Community Nursing Software
Everyone day health care teams rush, rush, rush. Not enough time, not enough resources, not enough people to do the work. While all this is happening, Residents (Patients) are experiencing a whole lot of things that are personal to them. They see you rush and they don't want to be a bother. They won't remember a lot of what you say but they will remember how you make them feel... https://lnkd.in/gtTnN8Ze

Why the spike? Although sometimes hard to measure, it can be related to: 🧠 Forgetting about the appointment 📅 Patient scheduling conflicts 🗣️ Miscommunication 🫤 Anxiety & discomfort 🚗 Language & transportation difficulties Matchnode aims to help alleviate this problem by optimizing to fill as many appointment slots as possible in the coming 3-4 days so patients can get the care they need. I make no apologies for reposting Ann Marie’s post. One of the main problems that we have is not so much ensuring risk assessment is done- we are pretty good at prevention, but, we need to improve on:- A) ensuring patients are aware of signs and symptoms - not to wait 3 weeks before questioning the swollen leg/ the shortness of breath - then staying in GP surgery, until clear that VTE has been effectively ruled out B) ensuring that all clinicians ‘THINK VTE’- as many VTE events go undiagnosed- as the symptoms are similar to other conditions- ACS, COPD exacerbation, musculo skeletal problems etc (as referred to in NICE guidance) and properly evaluate the patient- a PE will potentially kill a patient.
An estimated 10 million cases of hospital associated clots occur annually across all countries in the world – low, middle and high-income. That’s why it’s important for EVERYONE to stay informed and #KnowThrombosis. What country were you in when you or your loved one experienced a clotting episode?
