👏Congratulations to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago for a successful event and to Nicolas Michuda and Sydney for conquering the challenge! Let's get to work....all the way to the top! 💡 Here are some fun facts regarding stairs for architects and contractors: ➡ The Roman architect Vitruvius established the first guidelines for the stair in the first century B.C, suggesting a 37-degree pitch. Most stairs are not dramatically different today. ➡ The 19th century is regarded by many as the golden era of stair construction. In the 20th century architects gave prominence to lifts. Now, with the emergence of ‘active design’, architects are once again making stairs more prominent. #climbhigher
Scaling heights for a heartwarming cause! Our Project Manager, Nicolas Michuda, and his fiancé, Sydney, conquered 80 floors at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Aon Step Up for Kids event! Their climb supports young patients and their families at Lurie’s Children’s with proceeds benefiting K.I.D.S.S. for Kids, Inc. Together, we’re making a difference, one step at a time!

3 Misconceptions About Mission Work: 1. Mission Work Is Only Overseas: Many people think of mission work as exclusively happening in distant, foreign countries. However, mission work is not confined to international settings. It can be just as vital and impactful when conducted locally or within one's own community. This work involves addressing local needs, supporting nearby underprivileged areas, and engaging with local populations to create transformation and Spiritual growth. 2. Mission Work Is Just About Preaching: Some may think mission work is solely about preaching. However, it is much more than that—it's about action and love in action. Mission work involves meeting physical, emotional, and Spiritual needs, providing support and compassion, and actively transforming the lives of individuals and communities. 3. Mission Work Doesn't Require Professional Skills: There's a misconception that mission work is only about goodwill and does not require specific skills or expertise. In reality, many mission projects thrive on the diverse professional skills of their volunteers and staff, including medical professionals, educators, builders, administrators, and marketers. Effective mission work leverages these skills to better meet the complex and varied needs of the communities they serve. At Potter's House Ministries, we need you! 🙏 We covet your prayers and your donations, and we also will soon be needing your expertise here on the field. Friends and Colleagues, As many of you know, I am a passionate Board Member for Dallas Pets Alive! One of the biggest fundraising events for us is TODAY, North Texas Giving Day. Our goal today is to raise $115,000 so we can continue our amazing life-saving work! If you’re looking to give back, please consider donating to Dallas Pets Alive. Every bit helps and makes a big impact! ❤️ Thank you for your support! 🙏 https://lnkd.in/gsZdDbjw More about Dallas Pets Alive: Your support during North Texas Giving Day is not just a donation; it's a lifeline. Every gift you make goes directly to programs that are transforming the lives of animals and their humans. Our Foster and Adoption program is a beacon of hope for the most at-risk animals in our partner shelters, while our preventative programs—like PASS, Dogs Matter, and Bark Dorm—work tirelessly to keep pets out of shelters and in loving homes. These initiatives are not just about rescue; they're about building healthier, stronger communities where animals and people thrive together. The need is urgent. Many of the pets that come into our care have medical conditions so severe that shelters simply can't provide the care they need. Over a third of the animals we help are Major Medical Cases, requiring $1,000 or more in medical expenses. In 2023 alone, we spent more than $400,000 on treatments ranging from basic vaccinations to heartworm treatment and life-saving surgeries. This year, as we've taken on the incredible work of Dogs Matter and face the overwhelming overcrowding in North Texas shelters, the number of animals in our care has more than doubled. For the first time, we have more than 500 animals relying on our programs. While we've made strides in fundraising, the financial demands have outpaced our resources.
Every year, amazing supporters like you come together for Dallas Pets Alive on North Texas Giving Day. Your contributions are indispensable; they fuel our ability rescue animals and transform lives. We need your support now more than ever! This is our Excutive Director, Leslie Sans with one of our adoptable dogs, Sparkles, to remind you that you have the power to save lives. There is no donation too small — every little bit makes a world of difference to a pet in need. https://lnkd.in/dkrKMr2G https://lnkd.in/gGBFxgpw

Like many of us with young families, Rob from Queensland understands the importance of raising three kids with strong values. There are countless influences on our kids these days, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by them. Rob found it challenging to find positive content that aligned with his faith. With the constant flood of media, it was difficult to ensure his children were exposed to uplifting, family friendly messages. That’s how V180 became a real game-changer for his family. ‘It’s so refreshing to be able to turn on the radio and get good music and good content,’ said Rob. With V180, Rob found a way to bring hope and encouragement into his home. The Vision app gave him access to trusted Christian radio and media, helping his children connect with their faith through music, devotionals and podcasts. This has made a big difference in their lives, building a strong foundation of faith that Rob hopes will last for generations. ‘Turning on the Vision app is like having church with us every day,’ Rob said. ‘The music and programs not only entertain my kids but also teach them about Jesus in a way that’s meaningful.’ Rob’s story is a testament to the power of V180 in advancing the Gospel together. He encourages other parents to embrace this resource and invest in their children’s spiritual growth. ‘It’s not just for now; it’s for their future and the future of those who come after them.’ A donation to Vision is far more than just a transaction. It’s an investment in helping people focus on God’s Word. Something that will change their life and last for all eternity. You can respond now on the phone at 1800 316 316, at vision.org.au or in the free Vision Christian Media app. You’ll be helping people look to God daily as we believe and work together.

Delighted to get this gorgeous copy of Nonprofit Quarterly signed by the featured author Sará King, M.A., Ph.D. : Activating Loving Awareness. "I talk about love and loving-awareness not as phenomena of which I purport to be an expert but rather as “North Stars,” to exemplify a way of being toward ourselves and one another that I think encapsulates what it might mean to live in a state of individual and collective wellbeing." https://lnkd.in/guM2dYp2
