"We have to constantly remind ourselves that this method came from the horses themselves. This truly is Horse Medicine that we are trading in. And, as the practitioner, we are the vessel for the slow releasing of this medicine for those who come to us to partake of it. In the end, our horses will show us the way, as they have been patiently trying to do for so long in our enduring relationship with them. What is beholden on us is to listen and be willing to let them take the reins at times in our partnership through the wonderful, rewarding and deeply moving work that is equine facilitated growth. Without the horses and their innate abilities to help people, we can only offer a fraction of what seems so essential for many people. Humanity needs more than ever to foster a big heart, a deeper connection to our bodies, our emotions, one another and our natural world if we are going to survive and live fulfilling lives. What we are going to need is to be like the horse; a gentle, peaceful animal that lives in harmony with others and embodies qualities long since forgotten in the human psyche. We need the horses now more than ever." ©Angela Dunning ~ Excerpts from the conclusion of 'The Horse Leads the Way: Honoring the True Role of the Horse in Equine Facilitated Practise'. ⭐️Monday Evening Equine Education⭐️ Another super evening lunging /long reining. “The Art of Lunging” Like lunging, long-reining is a great way to exercise your horse if you're unable to ride for any reason or you're bringing your horse back into work. The main benefit of long-reining over lunging is that you can work your horse in a straight line, plus you can see how your horse moves from behind and from the ground. Long reining is also good for any type young /old horses too. Some people long rein to give there horse something different to think about, some people use it to work on improving the horses way of going. If horses are struggling with something under saddle, sometimes it can be really helpful to remove the rider and work on it from the ground, long reining is perfect for this. #equineeducation #equinelongreining #equinelunging #equinebalance

Getting to Know Your Horse - Theory and Practice When we really want to make the effort to prepare ourselves and our horses for ALL of the required circumstances in order to produce a healthy partnership, there is a lot to consider. Being sufficiently educated from the theories and written study to the trial and error of practicing, interpreting, improving and continuing to evolve in sill level is, for most, a lifelong journey. As part of our Vision and Mission to encourage owners and professionals to move towards evidence and research based, whole horse/whole rider protocols, we try to break information down and present it in a way that is not too overwhelming. From our free equine muscles series (https://lnkd.in/e39Y3_aR) to our membership and online courses, we are here to bring the pieces of the puzzle together. Our featured course today is Basic Equine Bodywork for Owners, where you can better learn what bodywork is, why it is important and get some simple techniques that you can practice yourself. Learn more about this course, presented by International Bodyworker and Researcher, Katja Porenta, and get started today: https://lnkd.in/g99sVc-9 #horses #horsewelfare #knowhowyourhorseworks #physical #mental #emotional #advocate #learn #evidence #research #equitopia

Leave your pain in the sand. Because the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® often immediately creates a release of energy and emotional blocks, clients feel as if they are leaving their past emotional pain in the sand of the barn where their session was held. Contrary to most forms of talk therapy that can last for months or even years, the work is generally completed in a few sessions. Most clients experience permanent resolution to the issues worked on during their sessions and find that the process elicits lasting change in their lives. No horse experience is necessary to participate, and you won’t ride the horse during the session. However, if you own or ride horses, you might find a deeper connection to them after experiencing the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method®. To get started on your journey to wholeness, click the link to find an Equine Gestaltist™ closest to you: https://lnkd.in/gM64B4P6
