⚠️“If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”⚠️ Charlotte Goodwill BSc (Hons), MITP, AMWES discusses with Harris Cains and Stewart Richardson the importance of employers ensuring a roadmap is set out for every apprentice, to ensure a beneficial journey for both parties. Government figures shared in a report by EDSK show that almost half (54.3%) of apprentices drop out (2023-24). The same study highlighted that over 70% of apprentices who dropped out reported experiencing problems with their training programme structure. It is critical that employers set out clear goals and support guidelines to positively increase retention rates for the future. The Institute of Telecommunications Professionals (ITP) are doing wonderful work, as they support employers & apprentices through the programme, to guarantee the next generation of telecoms professionals. Oh blimey…#NoseyNatalie has been at it again🤣 (It should probably be noted that this hashtag and my tendencies to be curious will continue😉). Last night, I popped to the #Westerham St. James’s Place offices, to attend their St. James's Place Financial Adviser Academy Discovery Event. #ChatsWithCharlie continued - you may recall that Charlie, Senior Manager at SJP, featured on a recent BTS Careers Zone webinar - if you haven’t seen it, def give it a watch! As well as meeting Charlie in person, I met some of the wider team including John Gentleman, Martyn Flower, Eddie Clark, Loren Taylor and also one of their first ever Academy grads - Lloyd Magee. Together they led an informative evening for those that had come to find out more and I think it’s safe to say, many walked away feeling excited about taking next steps. For me personally, I’ve developed so much more insight to the SJP Academy as well as others, from all of the events I have attended in recent weeks. This was so important for me to do and something I plan on continuing, to better enable me to support those looking to transition into financial services or those looking to take the next step in their career. More to follow on last night - so keep an eye out for further posts, articles, webinars and more via the BTS Careers Zone. Where will Nosey Natalie go next?🤔😆 #BTSontheroad #SJP #BTS #career #careerdevelopment #exam #exams #financialservices #financialservicesindustry

This module was incredibly interesting to expand on what I knew about sustainability. Key things I took from Simon’s talk were: The importance of viewing the SDGs as 3 different groups with the environmental aspects needing to be at the forefront of our efforts if we want to truly improve society. And there is no such thing as “throwing away”. An important message when we think about how we handle our consumption patterns and waste production! Looking forward to what the other modules will hold.
RSK Environment’s Early Careers Programme has delivered its first module!✏️ The module workshop was led by Simon Garrett, RSK Group’s Environment Engagement Lead, and was attended by RSK Environment’s graduates, year in industry placements, apprentices, and other colleagues in the early stages of the their careers💚. During the workshop, various issues and concepts were considered, including the urgent need for sustainable solutions and practical ways to make a positive impact. But that’s not all! We also delved into the psychology behind driving people to make sustainable changes. Understanding how to motivate and inspire others is key to creating a #greenerfuture🌱. The workshop also provided an opportunity for participants to learn about #SecondNature RSK Group’s new sustainability strategy. It was a collaborative session where everyone was encouraged to brainstorm and come up with innovative ideas that could be implemented across the Group. It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm and engagement from the participants, and to have time to consider how we can implement sustainability in our personal decision-making, as well as the opportunities we have to bring about change in our professional lives📚. Keep following the RSK Environment LinkedIn page for more content for the Early Careers Programme. 🔽🔽🔽 #RSKGroup #Sustainability #YoungProfessionals
