Providing intelligent building services since 1986.
About us
LMG has a proven track record of providing technology, managed services and innovative solutions for the most demanding workspaces and data centres. For over a quarter of a century, we have gained unique insight into the relationship between a building's IT infrastructure and technology, building services, space and, above all, the demands of occupants. In recent years this relationship has intensified. Today, the vast majority of building services and sub-systems are internet protocol (IP) enabled and delivered via the corporate network. At the same time, building automation systems and IT services have converged, creating new possibilities for building intelligence, cost reduction and better operational performance. With these possibilities comes a growing requirement for improved inter-departmental communication and collaboration. Now that sub-systems share a common infrastructure they not only offer many cost and efficiency benefits but also generate multiple, intricate complex interdependencies. These need careful, constant management, especially during periods of change. With all this clearly in mind, LMG has developed a portfolio of smart building solutions and services that take a joined-up approach to managing contemporary real estate, across office buildings, hotels, homes and data centres. Our expertise, experience and innovative technology put us in a strong position to help reinforce the ever-tightening relationship between businesses, their buildings and their people.

Last year, I teamed up with fellow MSI engineers (Daniel Watson from Hereworks, John Clarke from One Sightsolutions LTD, and James Thomas from SES Engineering Services) to write an article under the Digital Buildings Council for the Smart Buildings Show magazine Not sure how I feel about it though... 😔 I'm happy with the article, but it's crazy that we all keep running into the same problems on all our projects! It doesn't matter how we deliver our work – we all face these same avoidable issues. We wanted to raise awareness, so we highlighted these problems in the article. We do our best to avoid them, but it's an uphill battle. Other industries have already figured this out, so why haven't we? It seems like a lot of people are confused or don't understand why things need to change. To be honest, many are still using outdated methods. The Digital Buildings Council is doing awesome work by getting experts in one room! We haven't found the perfect solution yet, but we're open to ideas. Share your thoughts here, or DM me if you don't want to post publicly. Let's work together to make everyone's lives easier! and make Smart building delivery more accessible to all with minimal risk. https://lnkd.in/ev76c6rB

An interesting article in this month’s Smart Building Magazine by Matthew Marson. Ciaran Kelly’s comment is spot on. #lmgiq #digitalconstruction #digitaloperations #smartbuildings
With the new year upon us, I've refreshed my predictions for the year. With many worried about the viability of their business, the cautious optimism of market improvement means there's tension in how long people can last before the promised improvement happens: https://lnkd.in/etSCAGHG Michael Przytula, James Borg, Hector Simpson, Elisa Rönkä, Justin Kirby, Mazen Jamal, Rajan Saini, Rohan Chandavarkar

Great to see that two founders at one of LMG (lmgiq.com)'s supported charities Killed Women (KW) have been awarded #OBEs in the New Year's Honours List. A fantastic achievement and testiment to the strength, determination and courage the #KilledWomen team has shown in addressing #DomesticAbuse and #VAWG. #AFutureFreeFromFear
Carole Gould and Julie Devey, who co-founded the group Killed Women after their daughters - Ellie Gould, 17, and Poppy Devey Waterhouse, 24 - were killed in their homes by men they had ended relationships with, said a "bereaved mother is not to be messed with" after receiving honours for their campaign to strengthen domestic violence laws. They said that accepting the awards will "shine a light on our campaigning and will keep the many unjust issues surrounding violence against women and girls in the spotlight." "Getting this far has been really hard and emotionally draining and, of course, will not bring our darling daughters back, but as we learn more and more about the injustices, and more and more families reach out to us, we are fired up to continue our work." Carole and Julie hope to see an increase in the starting tariff for murders in the home, from 15 years to 25 years, the same as for killings outside the home. They say it is "insulting and disrespectful to those women to say that their lives are worth 10 years less". https://lnkd.in/e4XGM9s5 https://lnkd.in/eXNuEN9x https://lnkd.in/eTDjzZKu

Working out where to cite CCTV and WiFi points was the mission given to Year 10s at a thought-provoking workshop led by the LMG (lmgiq.com) team. The students thoroughly enjoyed planning out effective coverage for the building at the minimum cost. Thanks to the brilliant LMG team Candace Kumi, Ben Knight, Matt Cole and Alicia Whetton for making the workshops so engaging and putting relevant, real-world challenges to the students. #thinkutc #utc #datacentres #digitalinfrastructure #engineering #digital #cctv #wifi Stephanie Bolter

🎉Year-End Update from LMG 🎉 As 2024 wraps up, we're pleased to share a glimpse of our journey this year, and we’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our amazing team, customers, and partners who made this a special year for LMG (lmgiq.com). ExchangeIQ Launch: The launch of #ExchangeIQ at PropTech Connect this year marked a milestone for LMG. As a core pillar of LMG's suite of software tools designed to optimise digital project delivery for smart buildings, ExchangeIQ empowers main contractors, consultants and operators with real-time, automated asset and connectivity management and point data validation. ESG Initiatives: Our commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance shone through as LMG reduced our environmental impact and delivered over 1500 hours of volunteering to a raft of charitable causes throughout 2024. It’s truly humbling to see the impact of our collective efforts to improve the quality of vulnerable people’s lives and our natural environment. We look forward to continuing along this path in 2025. Thank you all for making 2024 another successful year, and we wish you all a peaceful and enjoyable Christmas and a Happy New Year! #lmgiq #smartbuildings #digitalconstruction #YearInReview #CommunityGiving #2024 #2025 #lmgteam

One of pop’s most famous and enduring duos. #NorledgeandKirby
Doh... forgot to include photo in last post but, as mentioned, great night out at the LMG (lmgiq.com) Christmas party last night although things are a bit slow today. Sam Norledge and I ended up doing a version of Creep by Radiohead as part of the live band Karaoke. Not sure we are going to get to give up the day job any time soon, but huge thanks for the invite and great to see you all.
