As part of their goal to achieve an energy-neutral office, Merlin ERD, a global oil and gas consultancy, has installed the latest Smartflower at their HQ in Perth, Scotland. The solar panel rotates to follow the sun, maximising solar absorption and offsetting electricity generation during working hours. This Smartflower system allows them to generate 40% more power compared to a typical fixed system, with no CO2 output. Merlin's commitment to sustainable energy generation is evident through this installation, which is the second in Scotland and the first commercial installation in the country. In late January 2024 System Hygiene decided to invest in a solar panel installation for the business. It was a big move forward for us as a company, to enable us to transition to becoming a more sustainable corporation and to help reduce costs and become more energy independent.
