🌟 USPSTF reviewing CKD recommendations 🌟 The USPSTF is currently reviewing its recommendations for screening for chronic kidney disease (CKD), which have not been updated since being retired in 2016. This review comes at a crucial time as CKD remains a significant public health issue that affects millions. This is a pressing need. The absence of updated guidance has prompted a bipartisan group of lawmakers to urge the USPSTF to provide stronger and more current recommendations. These lawmakers are advocating for a comprehensive strategy that emphasizes early detection and management of CKD, aiming to improve patient outcomes and address disparities in healthcare access and quality. According to the USPSTF, public comments are closed during the Final Research Plan phase, but there will be another opportunity for comment later during the Draft Recommendation phase. What is your take on this topic? Any ideas? You can read more about it at https://buff.ly/3XaL5Ho #USPSTF #CKD

🌟 November is Diabetes Awareness Month, and at Telecare USA, we’re highlighting the transformative role Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) plays in improving care for the 38 million+ adults in the U.S. living with diabetes. Diabetes costs the U.S. over $412 billion annually—a figure that’s only increasing. It’s clear that innovative approaches are essential to not only reduce these costs but also enhance care quality and patient outcomes. For those managing severe diabetes complications such as heart disease, kidney failure, and neuropathy, RPM offers a lifeline to better health and improved daily life. Clinical studies have consistently shown RPM’s ability to improve outcomes, and we’ve witnessed these successes firsthand with our clients. Discover how your practice can leverage RPM to deliver better care for patients while optimizing clinical resources and increasing reimbursement opportunities. "Delayed Acceptance of Diagnosis: A Critical Healthcare Concern" Yesterday, we discussed timely presentation to healthcare facilities. Today, we'll address the crucial issue of delayed acceptance of diagnosis. The Consequences of Denial--> Some patients struggle to accept their diagnosis, despite clear evidence. This rejection can have devastating consequences. Case scenario: A clear example was a 34year old man who was diagnosed of kidney problem He was a known hypertensive patient prior to that(not compliant with his medication) He initially didn't want to take it that he had such problem so he went and stopped his medications One year later he came back to the hospital Now everything Increased, he entered to stage 3 kidney failure 🚫What are risks of Delayed Acceptance: Uncontrolled blood pressure can lead to severe complications, even death. Delayed acceptance of diagnosis can result in: ----> Worsening health outcomes ---->Increased morbidity and mortality(death) ---> Reduced quality of life NB: We should encourage loved ones to seek medical attention and comply with the treatment PS: Get you blood pressure checked today and ensure you make lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of hypertension #Healthawareness #Oralhealth #Generalwellbeing

A recently published cross-sectional study of Electronic Health Record data involving #AllianceChicago Research helps tell the story of the current state of prescriptions for continuing glucose monitoring (CGM) among Community Health Center patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Despite clear evidence of CGM benefits, rates of prescription orders remain low, and disparities exists.
