On 3rd October, the holy day of Ghata Sthapana, our Marathi language was honored as a "Classical Language." This is a proud moment for Marathi people everywhere. At first glance, Marathi and Hindi might seem similar. But if you look closer, you'll see Marathi is a beautiful and unique language. Here are 3 things that make Marathi special: 1) Marathi has very few vowels, but tons of consonants. 2) It has unique sounds like "Ts," "z," "dzh," "Ru," and "dnya" that make it both mysterious and beautiful. 3) Marathi has its own witty style of humor, called "khavchatpana." Marathi has given us legendary figures who changed the course of history: - Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj - Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar - Lokmanya Tilak - Veer Savarkar Proud to be a Marathi! Greetings can be of many types, like a handshake, a hand wave, or using phrases such as “Nice to meet you”, “Good to see you” etc. We can all agree that it is a gesture of respect and kindness to the opposite person. But how deep do we really feel as we offer our greeting? Do we realize that our feelings have different layers when we meet someone?
