Sometimes just taking a deep breath and engaging in our playful sides is exactly what we need to reset and reengage in news ways in the business. Love this reminder Hayley that laughter, creativity, teamwork, and play can have a significant impact on our connections and our joy. #wellness #joy #teamwork #impact #BusinessPerformance
One of Transcend's team commitments is "Joy," and I truly experienced that during our Tri-annual meeting earlier this month. Jaci, Kevin, and Mike organized a scavenger hunt that included rollerblading, a gondola ride over Spokane Falls, and a merry-go-round ride - and those were just the first three stops! It was a fantastic reminder to embrace joy in everything we do… which is even sweeter when your team wins the competition! Special shout-out to Craig, Makenzie, and Kevin for that. 🥇 Here’s to more fun and memorable moments.

We’ve officially been in business for 4 years! 🎉 It turns out that time really does fly when you’re having fun (right Olly Cooper?) In the spirit of LinkedIn, here are four (genuinely useful) things that a slightly younger Em would have needed to hear: 1. You can’t expect to get things right all the time. Pretend you’re in a laboratory, test things out and see how they stick. Learn, improve, continue. 2. Don’t expect to have all the knowledge, tools or the resources you need to succeed (especially when you haven’t done something before), but do rely on the curiosity you have to go and find those things. 3. Sleeping on it, working it out and walking it off are the best ways to deal with stressful situations. 4. Celebrate the little wins. Even if it’s just acknowledging these things in a reminder google doc. But do celebrate. Preferably with donuts. Now, Michael Kireli-Reed and I are off to scoff these donuts to celebrate my 4 years in business 🥳🍩

This video shows exactly why I recruit for Five Below.
Founders Day (or week) is all about celebrating and recognizing our crew for their hardwork. We truly live our purpose and values everyday, but this event we Let Go & Have Fun just a little bit more! Huge shoutout to my team, the committee and vendors for helping me plan and execute such an amazing experience.

Did you know that August is Black Business Month? While the work I am honored to lead at BeyGOOD Foundation is rooted in creating more opportunities for economic equity and growth, it’s important to shine a light this month on the staggering reality for many Black business owners across the United States. Despite there being over 160,000 Black-onwed business contributing over $180 billion dollars to our economy, annually, according to Crunchbase data (2022), only 2.4% of venture capital dollars went to Black-owned businesses. With a funding gap this wide, it shows us very clearly just how much work is still left to do to create a future that provides equitable access to society's most marginalized and underserved communities. These businesses are the backbones of these communities and when they receive the access, support and visibility they need to attain greater success, they, in turn, have the ability to create opportunities for transformative change across generations. This is why we are so proud to collaborate with the amazing businesses that are part of the Black Parade Route, and I hope you’ll join me in supporting the small Black-owned businesses in your community who are doing their part to their mark on the beautiful tapestry that is the American economy. I am proud of my work with TRG in 2024 (see slide 4), and I'm ready to explore more ways strategic communication can strengthen the capacity of local partners. Here are a few advantages: 🌟 Allows experts to lead in their areas of expertise. 🌟 Agriculture (or health, education, biodiversity) experts are not graphic designers or writers. Strategic communicators can work with them to surface, articulate, and visualize essential information. 🌟Reaches the right people with the right information. 🌟 A systems-based approach requires engaging individuals on the periphery of your sphere of influence. Strategic communicators facilitate processes with local partners to identify these key stakeholders and tailor messaging to their needs and preferences. 🌟 Ensures evidence, tools, and resources don't get lost. 🌟 In my experience, subject matter experts often feel their work is complete when their white paper is published. Strategic communicators investigate where, how often, and when target audiences seek information. We create multi-phased campaigns to share complex information in digestible servings across multiple formats. 🌟 Facilitates discrete, prudent investments. 🌟 If a full-time strategic communicator isn't within reach, there are ample opportunities to employ communications services a la carte. * You may have a large annual report coming up. * Your team may need training in a specific area. * You need assistance to launch a large multi-stakeholder initiative. Here's an example of a SOW for a technical writing consultant to support local partners in West Africa. https://lnkd.in/g-93RKNn 🌟 Do you have questions about sourcing a strategic communicator to support your local partners? Please shoot me a message or leave it in the comments. 🌟
As we look back on 2024, we're filled with pride and gratitude for the incredible achievements in our work with our clients. Swipe through to see the highlights and join us in celebrating the amazing accomplishments of our TRG team! 🎉

👀🔤 Hold onto your dots, folks, because today we’re celebrating World Braille Day! 🎉🦸♂️ A massive shoutout goes to Louis Braille, the original master of dot-to-dot innovation. Thanks to him, what started as a revolutionary way to facilitate literacy and opportunity has evolved into a game-changer for accessibility. Braille literally helps us see things from different perspectives. As we celebrate today, let's commit to making our workplaces more inclusive for everyone. From accessible communication to supportive technologies, small steps can make a big impact. So, let's raise a metaphorical toast (and maybe a real one too—coffee, anyone? ☕) to the power of Braille. Because when it comes to inclusivity, we're all in. After all, what’s a better way to kick off the year than by ensuring no one’s left out in the dark? Here's to a world where everyone reads between the lines—literally and figuratively. 🤓✨
