Did you know that Dublin Airport 📍is not the only airport in Ireland? In fact, there are more than 10 airports scattered across the country! 😱 (not even counting some of the smaller, lesser-known ones). While not all of these airports see continuous, bustling activity, several serve as essential gateways for travel. Below, you'll find a list of Ireland's primary airports along with their winter flight schedules. 🙌 ✈ Dublin Airport (DUB) – The busiest and most well-known, located near the capital city. ✈ Cork Airport (ORK) – Serving the south, Cork offers connections to major European cities. ✈ Shannon Airport (SNN) – Conveniently positioned in the west, near Limerick and Galway. ✈ Ireland West Airport Knock (NOC) – A key hub in the northwest, connecting to the UK and seasonal European routes. ✈ Kerry Airport (KIR) – A smaller airport with flights primarily to the UK and other nearby destinations. ✈ Donegal Airport (CFN) – Known for its scenic location and flights to Dublin and Glasgow. ✈ Waterford Airport (WAT) – Currently limited in activity, but historically connected to the UK and continental Europe. ✈ Sligo Airport (SXL) – Small and used mostly for private or regional flights. ✈ Galway Airport (GWY) – Operational for private charters and smaller services. For those considering a move to Ireland, it’s important to know you don’t have to limit yourself to living near Dublin for flight convenience.🍀 Better yet, the summer schedules often bring a boost in flights and more destinations to explore! 🏖️

Regional Air Service development – Large city A to small town B or C. Major city populations typically drive demand for air service connections to smaller towns that couldn't sustain regular flights on their own. Large city a drives demand to small town B this is shown in the diagram below for New Zealand city connectivity from Auckland in 2020 using a schedule analysis EAC performed for an aviation & tourism client. Tourism and #exports are substantially enabled by Air Transport to create high skilled jobs and economic wealth for New Zealand. For example, #Queenstown, New Zealand alpine and all-year fun capital with a 16,000+ population, thrives on Auckland with multiple daily frequencies to drive international inbound tourism and local leisure travel. An opportunity for small town connectivity is to understand the right size of aircraft to provide multiple daily services for #tourism and #businesstravel. A major gap in the aircraft market offering is the 12 to 40 seat turboprop aircraft size. The gap for 12-40 seaters is a regional development constraint for #newzealand, #australia , #brazil , #Central Asia, and other countries. Smaller towns are typically unable to sustain and attract daily air services from airline operators deploying 50-70 seat #turboprop #aircraft fleets, as 20-50 pax per day each way (PDEW) #marketdemand sizes are too small even for one flight a day. EAC specialize in matching aircraft size with potential PDEW #analysis for #routedevelopment economics identifying new and unserved/underserved sectors, such as smaller towns and cities without regular air service. 🌐✈️ Since its initial flight on the Auckland to Los Angeles route on 1 April 1984, Air New Zealand has been forging vital connections between New Zealand and the United States. The Auckland to Los Angeles’ (LAX) route quickly became a cornerstone of Air New Zealand's international network, serving as a vital bridge between the two countries; the route has facilitated tourism, business, and cultural exchange, helping to solidify the trans-Pacific relationship. Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, the route has evolved from a few flights per week into a daily service, catering to the growing demand for travel between New Zealand and the US. The route has played a crucial role in promoting tourism, enabling travellers to explore the natural beauty of New Zealand and experience the vibrant culture of Los Angeles. Beyond its role in passenger travel, the route has also been instrumental in facilitating trade and commerce between the two nations, supporting the exchange of goods and services that contribute to economic growth for both countries. Air New Zealand has continuously invested in enhancing the passenger experience on the AKL-LAX route, including the introduction of state-of-the-art aircraft, award-winning inflight service, and innovations such as the Economy Skycouch and Economy Stretch. Looking ahead to the future of trans-Pacific travel, Air New Zealand plans to introduce further innovations on the route, including the much-anticipated] Skynest - a six-pod configured sleep zone for economy passengers to lie down when travelling long haul that is due to be launched in September. 👏 We applaud Air New Zealand for ensuring that this vital link with the USA remains strong for many more decades. #AirNewZealand #TransPacificTravel #StrongConnections #BilateralRelationship #Celebrate #AucklandLosAngeles

✈️ Discover how the strategic placement of airports is transforming urban travel and connectivity - creating attractive destinations for short-term travelers! 💺 The placement of airports 🛫 relative to city centers is a vital consideration when considering tourists and their enjoyment during a short stay holiday. Airports like Gibraltar, merely 1.5 km from the city, and Tallinn Airport, 4 km away, showcase the benefits of proximity for quick urban access. Conversely, London Heathrow and Berlin Schönefeld, situated further from their city cores, demonstrate the balance between city demands and international connectivity. Significantly, with 56.4% of European trips 🗺️ being short stays, the location of airports is crucial for accommodating short-term travelers seeking efficient city access. This trend emphasizes the need for strategic airport placement to support quick, convenient travel, offering substantial opportunities for the travel industry to enhance the passenger experience and reducing the time wasted during a short stay. Embracing this, governments and travel operators should focus on ensuring the transfer 🚈 from the airport becomes the first memorable moment of a short trip rather than a hassle and an inconvenience.

1wDear Stansted Airport Team, I wanted to share an unforgettable story from July/August 1996. A group of 100 high school students from Yakutsk, Russia, including myself, were stranded at Stansted Airport due to a charter flight no-show. The Airport's Exceptional Support. The airport's response was remarkable. You provided emergency accommodation in the gym and food for our three-day delay. I'm especially grateful to the Public Affairs Executive (whose name I unfortunately forgot) who accompanied our group throughout our stay. Her kindness and care made a lasting impact. Twenty-eight years later, I still appreciate the airport's compassion and dedication. Thank you, Stansted Airport, for opening your hearts and doors to us. Sincerely, Vladimir Ivanov
