Team Spotlight 🔦 features our CEO this month. See what Kent Andersen is saying about Shift STUDIO, work, life and much more. 🚀 At ShiftStudio, we believe in a "work hard, play hard" mentality that prioritizes balance, trust, and collaboration. Our culture is built on empowering our team, fostering strong client relationships, and doing whatever it takes to ensure success. 1️⃣ What keeps you motivated during challenging times, and how do you inspire the team to stay focused? My goal has always been and will always be to spend quality time with my family. With that comes a kind of “work hard, play hard” mentality. I work hard so that it can provide the means to completely disconnect for a period. I encourage each of the shift employees to do the same. While your career and work can be important and fulfilling, I try to remind myself and others that there are more important things out there… and that they should go find them. --- 2️⃣ Can you share a memorable story about ShiftStudio’s journey, and how you successfully navigated through a difficult situation? Before we started Shift, Tudor Luca and I were working together as engineers at a startup. As many startups do, this particular one ended up running out of money. Both Tudor and I moved on to different projects until one day Tudor approached me about this idea of starting a consulting company. Tudor and I work really well together, so I figured even if this thing didn't pan out, we would at least learn and grow together while having a good time. Turns out, the timing couldn't have been better. I had several companies reaching out to me to come work for them, and while I ultimately didn’t go work for them, it was the perfect opening to present Shift Consulting to them. And the rest is history! --- 3️⃣ What are your hobbies, and is there something unique about yourself you'd like to share that people might not know? Simply put… travel. If I had unlimited resources, you would likely find me near the ocean, in some tropical setting. --- 4️⃣ How do your personal values influence the way you shape and maintain ShiftStudio’s culture? I believe in believing in your team. You’ll never find me hovering over project managers or engineers. Trust the employee to do what they are good at. --- 5️⃣ In your opinion, what sets ShiftStudio apart from other companies in the industry? I’m not sure you will find a company that’s easier to work with. We literally mold ourselves around your company and do anything that is needed in order for you to be successful. --- 6️⃣ How do you cultivate strong relationships with both our team and clients, ensuring trust and collaboration? Trust is earned over time, it's not something that comes freely. We earn the trust of teams and clients by doing what we say we are going to do. That means meeting deadlines, keeping communication open, and staying accountable.

Resonate turns two today, and it’s been an extraordinary journey so far… I remember the day like it was yesterday; there were some nerves for sure as we opened our first studio in Silverdale, north of Auckland. I did not need to worry; the NZ public took to the innovative Resonate business model from day one. Our plans were to open six studios and assess our assumptions. By the time we got to number four, Bayfair in Tauranga, it was clear we needed to go faster. Lightspeed would be an apt word for it. In the last year, we have opened 18 studios, taking us to 24, with another 4 in construction. To put this into context with the population in NZ, the same growth in the UK would mean adding 312 ‘greenfield’ locations in a two-year period. It’s been humbling to watch the collaboration across the Resonate team. I’ve never seen engagement like it. When you grow this quickly, it’s easy for the wheels to come off, but we’ve never missed a beat. You really are the #dreamteam. To the early adopters and, most of all, Kim Greyling, thank you. Your trust in the Resonate dream made it all possible. If you’ve got a moment, watch this Ted Talk (https://lnkd.in/gHvV2sgY). It’s a brilliant three minutes; summing up why the early adaptors are really the leaders and need to take all the credit for the Resonate success story to date. Take a bow Team.

collective well-being over individual convenience. In Japan, it's common for employees who arrive early to park farther away, allowing those who come later to park closer to the building. This practice reflects a strong sense of mutual respect and consideration in the workplace. By giving latecomers easier access to parking, early arrivers help reduce the stress of their colleagues. This thoughtful gesture fosters a cooperative environment, highlighting the importance of harmony, empathy, and teamwork in Japanese work culture. It emphasizes collective well-being over individual convenience. Ref: Unknownfacts

Pop CoLab - Where Play Meets Productivity Pop Colab wasn't born out of a desire for mere fun and games (although there's plenty of that too!). It stemmed from a belief in the transformative power of play in the workplace. We work with corporate teams to unlock the potential that lies within when we embrace a playful approach. Why Play? It's Science! Did you know that research shows play isn't just a frivolous pastime? Studies reveal that incorporating play at work leads to a multitude of benefits, including: Reduced Stress and Burnout: Research by the Association for Psychological Science indicates that play is linked to lower stress levels, fatigue, and burnout in individuals. Enhanced Creativity and Problem-Solving: A Time Magazine article highlights how play fosters a free-flowing environment that encourages exploration and experimentation, leading to innovative solutions. Improved Team Building and Collaboration: Studies suggest that playful activities strengthen bonds, increase trust, and build a sense of camaraderie within teams, leading to better collaboration. Boosted Happiness and Productivity: A study by HR cloud software company BrightHR revealed that 79% of graduates believe fun at work is essential, and 44% believe it encourages a stronger work ethic. So, how do we bring play to work? Pop CoLab takes a multi-pronged approach: Tailored Team-Building Programs: We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all solution. We work closely with your team to understand your specific needs and goals, then craft a customized program that incorporates playful activities designed to inspire connection, collaboration, and creativity. Curated Workshop Experiences: Whether you're looking for a laugh-out-loud improv session, a problem-solving experience, or DIY workshops, we offer a diverse range of workshops facilitated by our in-house team and a network of talented facilitators. We're constantly adding new experiences to stay fresh and exciting. A Hub for All Things Playful: Pop CoLab aspires to be your central resource for anything related to incorporating play into the workplace. Join the Playful Revolution! There are so many reasons why team retreats should be more encouraged, but for us, this is the biggest one; Breaking the routine and mixing up the environment can bring out the creative spirit in you/your team! ➡ For example: Twelve of the Sipgate team organised an off-site in Lisbon to brainstorm on a new product, a new brand for a mobile operator based in Germany. Their main reasons for visiting us at Surf Office were: brainstorming a new product requires a great deal of focus and creativity, and they felt that a change of environment would help. This, coupled with the endless team-building activities and opportunities to relax in a new location, gets team members thinking in completely new ways. It may seem like just a trip to a sunny location, but this boost in team spirit helps team members brainstorm ideas they didn't even know they had! #teamretreats #breaktheroutine #creativityboost

🚀🚀 Being the CEO of a creative studio might seem exciting from the outside, but it’s a 365-day, 24/7 commitment. It’s about balancing creativity while managing multiple moving parts, leading the team, building client relationships, and ensuring everyone stays on top of the latest design trends. But the challenges are balanced with great perks: - Fully remote, so you can work from anywhere. - No strict hours, as long as the work gets done, you manage your time. - Most importantly, no one here is an “employee” or “employer”. We’re all part of the same team. Everyone gets a fair share of the projects they work on. Running a creative studio is demanding, but when it’s built on collaboration and passion, it’s incredibly rewarding. Ps. Here is today’s work view Bangkok surely keeps the (creative) juices flowing🤭

Meet SA-ers | WAN Võ - Vol 23 Hey folks! I’m WAN, currently holding the title of Assistant Manager at SHIFT ASIA. In the wild world of IT outsourcing at SHIFT ASIA, my daily gig mostly involves diving headfirst into projects that I manage to solve pesky technical requests from our clients. Picture this: I clock in, do the attendance cha-cha, and then take a break…like a caffeinated sloth. And then, I double-check all the tasks—just in case there is a last minute hidden-surprise. You know, the usual office shenanigans! Colleagues always fuel my energy and spark my creativity. They're such young, dynamic, and incredibly talented folks. Every two weeks, like clockwork, we gather for an internal mini show. We start with the boring-but-necessary- part like company updates, department announcements - the usual stuff – and then the main performance. Each team member gets a moment in the spotlight to spill the beans about what’s been tickling their fancy lately. From hobbies to life experiences, it’s like a surprise grab bag of intriguing content. And let me tell you, those sessions are my jam - I absolutely love them! But wait, there’s more! Outside of the daily grind, I secretly moonlight as a proud member of our company’s soccer club, where I trade emails for goals! Since we’re still rocking the hybrid work-from-home setup, our club hasn’t had many chances to meet up and kick the ball. However, every weekend, we transform. We hit the field, sprint, play soccer, and unleash primal yells. It’s like stress relief meets team bonding. Plus, it’s a chance to get up close and personal with colleagues from various departments, all working on different projects. Fingers crossed that the SHIFT ASIA soccer club welcomes even more fresh faces for upcoming tournaments! -- #MeetSAers #SHIFTASIA #PeopleofSHIFTASIA
