🔥 FAMILY reunification cards for UKR pesel holders from July 1, 2024: for children and wives/husbands. One of the most expected change in the special law for Ukrainian citizens is the possibility for UKR pesel holders to apply for family reunification cards for family members, as well as wives/husbands of Polish citizens. As we remember before UKR pesel holders could apply for cards only on the basis of work or business. ❗In fact, sensational is the weakening of the requirements for a family reunification card. Previously it could be applied for only if the family member to whom you joined had a residence card for more than two years in total, and the last card should not be issued for less than 1 year. These norms have been removed from the law and now almost all family members will be able to apply for reunification cards. I know this from my first hand experience: I had to wait for such a card for 2 years! 🤭And I had less possibilities on the Polish labour market because employers didn't want to have additional costs and time to get legalization documents for foreign employee. Why sensationalized❓ Few people know the benefits of such a card, and they actually deserve attention. Family reunification cardholders: 💥 have full access to the labor market and exemption from the need to obtain any work permits; 💥 have access to all types of social benefits; 💥can open a Polish analog of a sole proprietorship firm; 💥 can receive free higher education in Polish public universities; 💥 have the possibility to register as unemployed and receive assistance in this regard; 💥there are no restrictions on the number of days of stay in Ukraine, as with the Ukrainian PESEL UKR - only 30 days. These benefits make easier professional and private life of Ukrainians in Poland. Which should be the goal of every simplification. Thank you, Poland 🇵🇱 I am not sure that I have listed all benefits. Perhaps, I should create a new post on this topic... Do you know other advantages of such a card❓ Share in the comments 😉 Agnieszka J. Kaliszewska Karolina Pachel Rafał Rzepka Daria Myronchuk P.S By the way the picture was made with AI, this is my first experience and I am not good at this. If you know a good tool, let me know. Great piece by Toula Drimonis in the Montreal Gazette covering the tenuous (that's putting it kindly) link between immigration and birth rates. Parti Québécois Leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon recently stated that “astronomical” immigration can harm Quebec’s birthrate. According to him, housing and accessibility of services, particularly daycare spaces, are determining factors affecting the decision to have children. “The two are related,” he said. Instead, how about seeing an empty room at a daycare as an opportunity to bring in one immigrant early childhood educator and get half a dozen parents back into the workforce? More productivity. More tax take. Deeper public pockets to plan for and deliver — you guessed it! — affordable housing. The scarcity mindset is to the fore among many, including PSPP. It's crucial for voices like Toula's to be heard. And thanks to the Gazette for publishing a piece on a similar theme by yours truly (link in comments).
Toula Drimonis: Immigration is bad for Quebec's fertility rate? Really?
