Join Team Air Supply in the Push-Up Challenge 2024! 🌟 We’ve taken on the challenge to complete either 3249 or 1625 push-ups or alternative exercises between 5th-28th June. These numbers represent the lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2022. Our focus is on promoting better mental health and supporting Lifeline, a vital resource for those in need. Every 30 seconds, someone in Australia reaches out to Lifeline for help. They provide invaluable support 24/7, offering a non-judgmental listening ear to those who are feeling overwhelmed or in crisis. With the cost per call to Lifeline being $29, every cent raised will directly aid those seeking help. Mental health is at the core of our business, as we’ve faced our own challenging times. Each member of our team has a unique story, emphasizing the importance of looking after our mental well-being and supporting others. Your support means the world to us. Even a $1 tax-deductible donation can make a difference. Follow our journey and contribute if you can. Together, let’s make a positive impact on mental health and suicide prevention. Looking for support! At xAmplify we’re great at rallying around each other in support of a good cause, so when one of my teammates asked me to join the 2024 Push-Up Challenge I signed up without thinking about it. A few weeks in I won’t say I regret it but I’m certainly feeling the outcome of that decision. But what good is participating in a fundraiser without raisings some funds? That’s where I need your help, so please have a look at the Push-Up Challenge website and donate here: https://lnkd.in/ghNBfjVd 🔹 Why This Matters: Like many of us, I’ve seen the benefits of positive mental health, and the impact of mental illness. Participating in The Push-Up Challenge is more than just exercise; it's about standing in solidarity with those who face mental health challenges every day. 🔹 Team Effort: Our team is a diverse group, varying in fitness levels and enthusiasm for push-ups, but we're united in our commitment to support this vital cause. Together, we're pushing our limits to reach our targets and make a meaningful difference. 🔹 My Goal: I've set myself the challenge of completing all 3,249 push-ups of the challenge to represent the 3,249 lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2022, as reported by the latest statistics. Each push-up is a tribute to a life lost and a step towards preventing future tragedies. I am asking for your support—whether it’s cheering us on or making a donation, every little bit helps us get closer to our goal. Together, we can shed light on mental health issues and support those in need. Let’s push for better mental health. 💪 #PushForBetter #ThePushUpChallenge #MentalHealthAwareness

This year, I have decided to do the push up challenge. This is to raise awareness and money for charities associated with mental health issues. Having had multiple family members, friends and colleagues who have struggled with their mental health, I have gone through a journey of understanding which has led me to have a completely different perspective on the issue. I now view mental health in the same way as physical health, something to be actively maintained and something to seek professional help and advice on when you are struggling with symptoms. Please follow the link below to donate to the cause. #pushupchallenge #mentalhealth

🌟 Did you know that this month is Mental Health Awareness Month? It's crucial to understand the impact of mental health on young people, especially those facing homelessness. Poor mental health can disrupt a young person's ability to secure and maintain a job, lead to relationship breakdowns, and ultimately result in homelessness. A study of 90 young people who were homeless, revealed that mental health issues were very high, 88% and 93% had current and lifetime mental health issues respectively compared to a 17% rate of probable mental health issues among young people and children in the general population. This suggests that mental health issues are much more common in young people who are homeless. (Centrepoint 2022) 💙 Support the Big Give's #Kind2Mind campaign from 14 - 28 May. Thanks to #Kind2Mind, your kindness will go twice as far. Every donation you make will have DOUBLE the impact, directly funding our wellbeing coach service and providing vital mental health support to young people facing homelessness. So, when you donate £5, it becomes £10, £20 becomes £40, and so on! Donations open 12pm 14 May!

May is mental health awareness month people. This year my family will ride 50KM together and pay tribute to the way too many people in our lives we’ve lost to suicide. Consider joining my team and riding, or donate. Your donation is vital so Jack.org can continue its critical work of helping youth understand their mental health and seek help without shame. Team Westcoast: To Join: https://lnkd.in/eGS2G-QV To Donate: https://lnkd.in/e3isbVG5 Here’s what else you can do: 1. Complete the (free) Be There Certificate and learn how to be there for others. Destigmatizing mental health is a matter of life and death. https://lnkd.in/ek5idjMN 2. Spread the word about Be There, friends, family, co-workers, shout it from the rooftops. 3. Stop thinking it couldn’t happen to anyone in your circle…it can. Learn to get comfortable discussing matters of mental health. Take care of yourself. Wishing you all good mental health. #MayMentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MentalHealth #Suicide

Hi all, this June I'm completing 3,249 push-ups in 24 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health in Australia. You can show your support by making a tax-deductible donation to my page where I'm aiming for $500. I'm aiming for 20 individuals to donate $25 or more. If you pause for a moment and connect with this cause, perhaps you can be one of these people. I understand if you don't want to or cannot, and I thank you for taking some time to make yourself more aware about this cause. Perhaps, alternatively, you can spread this information to others or reach out to someone who may be struggling. Having done this before, I know that this truly becomes physically challenging throughout the month. (And I am very out of shape at the moment so this will be a grind!) Your body aches and your resilience reduces. Often you think it is not possible to do another day and cannot see the finish line. This is something that people face on a day-to-day basis in a range of different contexts. They don't necessarily feel it physically but rather face it mentally and struggle, often feeling alone. Every dollar helps #pushforbetter mental health outcomes in Australia by funding much-needed mental health services and initiatives. Services that support people to realise they are not alone and always have help. For lifeline, just $39 dollars will fund one life-saving call and $60 will keep the crisis support lines open for half an hour. Thank you for your support! https://lnkd.in/gnaacsWR

In January 2024 it's suspected that roughly 441 people (324 men and 117 women) lost their lives to suicide in England. According to a NatCen survey, only 13% of people in the UK have high levels of positive mental health. In England, 1 in 4 people experience a mental health problem each year, and 1 in 6 people experience anxiety or depression any given week. Whilst I found credible sources for all of these stats, the sad reality is that they are all probably wrong and the real numbers are even higher and worse than we can imagine. This has to change, and we need to work together to combat this mental pandemic. I'm collaborating with Mind to help raise money and awareness in the fight for better mental health, by completing 31 minutes of activity for the 31 days in January. If you would like to donate to the cause or join my team in the fight here's the link https://lnkd.in/esAyt2UW If you are interested in my results and progress of the challenge add me on Strava here https://lnkd.in/eJAT8Q_B #mentalhealth #awareness #charity #running #mind

This week I've done 1020 push ups #pushing for better mental health #awareness and #support. -128 for the 1.28M young Australians experiencing psychological distress in 2021 - nearly half of all our young people who faced a heavy toll in COVID; - 150 for the 150 minutes of endorphin boosting exercise a week 🏃♀️ 🚴♂️ 🤸♀️ ; - 172 for the 17.2% of us experiencing an anxiety disorder in the last 12 months; - 175 for the 17.5% of us who experience extreme loneliness 🤗 ; - 195 for the 195 online chats Lifeline has per day as well as taking 📞 calls; and - 200 for the benefits from volunteering resulting in 20% decline in mortality. Thanks for the support so far. I do this to start a conversation, to remind people they are not alone and to raise money for Lifeline Australia as part of The Push-Up Challenge. So far I have raised enough for Lifeline to answer 65 calls - please support me as I #pushforbetter in 2024 so no one is going through their darkest moments alone.
