South Asian Heritage Month (SAHM) recently announced this year's theme 'free to be me'. Lots of companies across the UK will be marking SAHM this year and might already be in planning mode (SAHM runs from July 18 - Aug 17). Did you know that there is a Love Your Company deck specifically for those who identify as South Asian? Each prompt offers the opportunity to share your lived experiences, reflections, family life and stories 🤝🏽 South Asia is made up of many different countries, cultures, faiths and traditions and it's important to give everyone the chance to educate others and share their personal stories. So this post is for those involved in employee resource groups and networks that celebrate South Asian heritage, and also for people/teams who are interested in learning from their colleagues. Ways you can use the deck 👇🏽 💡 Have an event where people answer the prompts and open the floor for others to share too (fireside chat, smaller group discussions, Q+A panel). 💡 Gift a deck to a colleague and encourage them to answer a few prompts if they wish. 💡 Encourage senior leaders to answer the prompts. This creates an inclusive and safe environment for people to share their honest experiences of tradition and upbringing, no matter where they sit in the organisation. It can be hard to 'bring your whole self to work' if people don't understand that your culture, upbringing and experiences influence how you do this 🤷🏽♀️ The South Asian Roots deck includes 30 prompts and you can order your deck(s) on the website - www.loveyourcompany.co.uk 😊 📍 UK-wide and international delivery available Tag someone who might be interested below 👇🏽 #LoveYourCompany #ConversationStarters #SouthAsianHeritageMonth #EmployeeResourceGroups #DiversityAndInclusion #DEI

One of my learnings in life, is to always be open, as best I can (Kabat-Zinn, 2013), and to allow life to flow through me. It’s a personal mantra and continuing practice… I met the lovely Yvonne Kelly at the #Rejig Conference last year. Interestingly, I remember almost not going to the conference because it clashed with another appointment in the diary. Cut the long story short, I ended up going, and whilst networking, I bumped into Yvonne, quite literally! She had the biggest smile, and such a warm and pleasant energy and radiance about her, we hit it off rather immediately. We quickly realised we had a lot of common interests, including a desire to influence people and organisational change... This short video clip is a product of emerging conversations on all things D&I, EI, and Mindfulness - driven by the following questions: ❓ What can D&I do DIFFERENTLY to start shifting the dial on Gender equity in the light of recent poor statistics? ❓What role could E&I and Mindfulness play in enabling a new lens and mindset switch in the areas of 'identity', D&I 'dimensions', and ‘intersectionality’. ❓Is self-leadership at the heart of this needed change? Click and watch to join the conversation... Recently, I experienced a heartwarming encounter that served as a poignant reminder of the essential aspect of being human. There was a lady I would see every morning on my journey to work for the past 3months or so, and I made it a point to greet her out of courtesy and also my habit of being nice to all persons I come across in life. To the point of asking of the well being of her family, children and husband if she had any, without asking of her marital status. Few days ago, I discovered that she was the wife of an old classmate of mine from years ago. How did I know? I met my old friend who doubled as a classmate with her who introduced the lady as his wife. The meeting with them and the coincidence that we (lady and I) both knew someone special to us, struck me how effortlessly the world has become a global village, intertwining our lives and histories in unexpected ways. The meeting highlighted the importance of treating each individual with respect regardless of their background or status. What if I had showed her bad attitude all this time before knowing she is the wife of a class mate and a good friend . My bad. It would've been an embarrassing moment😒 I learnt that in today's interconnected world, you never know when showing empathy and appreciating others could lead to meaningful opportunities or connections. It is crucial to pay attention to respecting everyone in our environment. every person we interact with has unique experiences, insights, and potential contributions that can enrich our lives. P.S : Be intentional about developing the habit of respecting the humanity in every individual you encounter, for you never know if they might be the key to unlocking your next success. #inspiration #strategy #fleetoperations #nigeria #leadership #sucessmindset

"Some people look for a beautiful place, others make a place beautiful." – Hazrat Inayat Khan. His teachings remind us that true beauty is cultivated from within and radiates outward into the world. For me, beauty isn’t just something we find—it’s something we create every day through our presence, actions, and the love we share. When we bring compassion and warmth into our interactions, we turn ordinary spaces into extraordinary ones. It’s a powerful reminder that each act of kindness brightens the world around us. In the workplace, beauty isn’t just about appearances; it’s about the harmony, collaboration, and positive energy that people bring. When teams work together with respect, empathy, and shared purpose, they create an environment where everyone can thrive. The true beauty of any organization lies in its people—those who lead with heart, foster connection, and inspire others. It’s their inner beauty that transforms the workplace into a space of growth, fulfillment, and genuine connection. Let’s take a moment to recognize and celebrate the beauty each person brings into our world through their dedication, creativity, and kindness. To the coaches, mentors, and speakers who guide, inspire, and uplift others—your impact goes far beyond words. You’re creating a ripple effect of positivity and transformation. Thank you for the beauty you bring into our lives. #AineeCha #HeartMindWellness #TheShambalaJourney #CelebrateBeauty #Inspiration #PositiveImpact #LeadershipWithHeart

Embracing the Colors of Corporate Life: Inspiring Lessons from Holi's Legends 🌈 As we celebrate the joyous festival of Holi, let's infuse our corporate journey with positivity and inspiration drawn from the tales of Holika, Prahlad, and Hiranyakashyap. Hiranyakashyap, driven by ambition and power, reminds us of the potential for leadership to uplift and empower. While his methods may have been flawed, his determination and vision can inspire us to strive for excellence in our professional endeavors. Let's harness his ambition positively, aiming not just for personal success but for the greater good of our teams and organizations. Prahlad's unwavering integrity and resilience serve as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path to ethical leadership and enduring success. In the face of adversity, let's emulate his courage and commitment to truth, knowing that integrity is the foundation upon which sustainable growth and prosperity are built. In the fast-paced world of business, it's easy to forget the simple power of kindness. I was recently reminded of this by seeing Danny Lim while arriving from my commute to a client in Barangaroo. If you don't know Danny, he is famous for his cheerful demeanour and his signs that make people smile - spending his time just to spread positivity and make people smile more. Seeing Danny, I couldn't help but smile and bring myself into the present moment rather than focusing on the thousand busy things in my mind. It struck me how being a nice person and spreading positivity can be such a simple yet effective way to build a great name for yourself in the business world. A smile, a kind word, or a helpful gesture can go a long way in fostering a positive work environment and creating lasting relationships. In our professional lives, remember to be like Danny - making people smile and lifting others up. It’s not just about doing great work, but also about being a great person. #WorkplaceCulture #Kindness #Positivity #Leadership #DannyLim #BusinessSuccess

🌟 Building Unity in the Workplace: Lessons from the Quran 🌟 In today’s fast-paced, competitive work environments, it’s easy to fall into the mindset of rivalry. But what if we shifted our perspective? What if we saw ourselves not as competitors but as collaborators—united by a shared purpose and connected at a deeper level? The Quran offers profound insight into this idea: 📖 “And they ask you about the soul. Say, ‘The soul is of the affair of my Lord; and mankind has not been given of knowledge except a little.’” (Surah Al-Isra, 17:85) 📖 “Indeed, We created man from a mixed drop that We may test him; and We made him hearing and seeing. Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or ungrateful.” (Surah Al-Insan, 76:2-3) This verse reminds us that life, including our work, is a test—not of who can outdo others, but of who can uplift, serve, and act with gratitude. When we recognize the divine spark within ourselves and others, we move beyond competition toward a greater purpose. How can we foster unity in competitive environments? • Embrace Shared Humanity: See your colleagues not as competitors, but as partners in a shared journey toward excellence. • Support Over Sabotage: Success grows exponentially when we lift each other up. Every act of kindness strengthens the team and the mission. • Align with Purpose: Reflect on the bigger picture. How can our work serve not just ourselves, but the greater good? One Giant Consciousness: The Quran reminds us that humanity is inherently connected. By nurturing this understanding, we can create work cultures where competition serves innovation, not division—and where kindness becomes a currency of success. Let’s build workplaces that reflect these values and inspire others to do the same. What are your strategies for promoting unity and purpose at work? Share your insights and let’s grow together. #UnityAtWork #PurposeDrivenLeadership #KindnessMatters #QuranicWisdom #CollaborationOverCompetition #DevineSparkWithinUs #OneGiantConsciousness #NoCoincidences
