I wanted to share something I've been enjoying lately – a daily email newsletter with a unique perspective on the news. It offers a refreshing change from the usual headlines and avoids the click-bait drama. What I particularly appreciate is the "eternal perspective" it brings to current events, something that's often missing in the daily news cycle. It doesn't tell you how to feel, but rather provides a thoughtful analysis that helps you form your own opinion. If you're interested in a different way to stay informed, check out the link: https://lnkd.in/gBpfGuJx Hope you find it as interesting as I do!

Thanks Adrian. Always good to chat with you. It really is interesting, isn't it, that people are so quick to go down a tick-box route when in the longer-term that provides so little value. And that's why even for our core membership we have a 3-step process in place to protect the integrity of that membership. It isn't unduly onerous but does take up a little bit of time as it includes a 1-2-1 with me! Did you know that if we did not include that 1-2-1 Zoom meeting, i.e. it was just take the questionnaire and pay the money, our membership would be about 5 times bigger than it is today! Sadly, it is too easy to tick a box and not be 100% honest. That never happens with #ORBmembership. In fact, that 3-stage process is even written into our Articles of Association! https://lnkd.in/esiYyaM3

Having a bad headline — or a headline that sensationalizes, oversimplifies, or chooses snark over neutrality — can make people lose trust in your news immediately. Don't let that happen. Instead, use this free checklist to avoid common pitfalls with headlines. https://lnkd.in/gfMy2tdi

Free media: an essential tool for democracy Not the ones owned by billionaires, Not the ones dictated or censored by authoritarian regimes, and certainly not the ones managed by religious fundamentalist! Topics to discuss and analyse in political and social science courses and I have particularly found qualitative field research and in-class gamification useful to facilitate meaningful learning and reflection. #EU #education #socialjustice #democracy #universities #highereducation #politicalscience #games

What comes to mind when you hear (or read) the phrase, “separate the signal from the noise”? On its own, is this guidance more helpful to the mission than it is potentially harmful to the people involved? What can you add to this advice in the form of either supporting, or cautionary commentary? Looking forward to your comments.
